Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

is any good for editing the seem so that i can enable transflash mp3 transfer to phone.... also whats the difference with this cable and an OEM one that this guy offers as an upgrade? Thank you in advance.

I know this isn't really related to the Motorola e815. When someone calls and leaves a message on your voicemail, they can bypass that annoying lady who goes on forever(now she has added to leave a fax number!)by pressing *. 😁

so can the speaker phone be used with the phone closed? simple yes or no answer is fine 😉

The follow-up to the E815 is already in the works and will be released by December just in time for Christmas. I am waiting for this one. I currently own the V710 and this is good enough for me. I get 5 hours of talk time from the extended battery and I like the fact I can transfer my mp3's to the phone. I never bothered getting that software update they came out with on the 710 model. I just don't see any problem with the way it works as it is. Maybe if I owned one of those new sports cars that had blue tooth it would be a different story. I can't see how the reception on the E815 could be better than the 710 which is already excellent. Sometimes, I think it's just people's ideas when they get a new phone they think the reception is bet...

Is anyone having a problem with Vcast on this phone? I've got no icon under Get It Now where it's supposed to be.

Took my phone back to the store. They messed with it and then opened up about ten other E815's. None of them had Vcast. Called tech support and they said it was a known issue on some of these phones, but I've also heard that it's not available yet for this model. I know the novelty of these video clips will wear off quickly, but it's still bugging me.

I'm in NJ right outside of Philly, so being in a Vcast area shouldn't be an issue. Anyone else having this problem or know anything?

Does this phone have a buggy phone book? Or does it have any other bugs? I want to buy this phone. Let me know...

I have seen several comments expressing disappointment that the e815 phonebook forces you to view multiple numbers for one contact as separate entries. This is not correct, as Motorola now gives you another option on the e815.

Go into "Contacts" -> hit "Menu" -> hit "Setup" -> scroll down to "View: All Contacts" and hit "Change" -> scroll down to "Primary Contacts" and hit "Select" -> hit "Done".

Now, when you go into "Contacts", only the primary number will display. Hit the right arrow and it will display the next number for that contact (indicated by the little icon), and so on & so on.

This works regardless of how you have your have your phonebook set up, i.e. view by picture of view by list.

Too bad the battery is not the same as the V710. Now, this phone is not an option if I have to go out and buy a seperate extended battery and render the V710's extended battery useless. Motorola made up my mind for me. Thanks Moto ;-)

Hi! I've just downloaded a ringtone and saved it to my sound files, but after hitting the menu there is no option to "apply as ringtone" as I do with all the rest of the sounds. THEY are MID files, but the one I downloaded is a QCP file. The phone still plays it perfectly fine so shouldn't I be able to make it a ringtone?? Do I have to convert it to an mp3? How do I do that? Thanks...

so there are no bluetooth stereo headphones that work with the e815?

The reason Im asking, is all the movies I downloaded from the internet (Music videos and Stuff in that nature) I notice when I export the movie in quickt time 7 it tells me that there is "no audio track in source movie" Thats why I havent been getting sound when I play it back on my E815.

Yet, when I export a homevideo or something that I made, It shows that I have audio and Im able to set the ausio settings for the E815. And it works just fine, no problems at all.

So. Is there a problem with the compression? or the way its been encoded? How can I fix that? Can quicktime fix it? I've been trying for 4 days straight to get this working. I have a imac G5......Thanks

OK, had the phone for two days now and I am not liking the sound quality of the other parties I am talking to. My earpiece just doesn't sound as good as I would expect. I updated from an LG VX6000 and feel the sound quality from that earpiece was superb compared to the E815. Is this just my phone or has anybody else noticed this???

Does anyone have seem edits ready for the rest of so we can play?? I would like to enable OBEX and change the outer lcd, and tranfer from card.

Also would I need a new version of p2kman...The last phone I messed with was a moto v620.

Tried to pair this phone to my TL today but was unsuccessful. It goes through the process and gets to the end where you name the phone. Keeps repeating the name I gave it then states to change the name or make it longer to prevent issues with recognition. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've been without my phone for about two weeks now. I plan on getting the e815 because of the better reception it has. I am able to order it through the verizon's business website through the company I work for with discounted rates. However, i've been reading problems about the speaker phone echoing on some phones and also about dead pixels when trying to take a picture with it. I was wondering if I should go ahead and get the phone now, b/c this can be fixed with a software update, or wait a few more weeks until they fix it, cuz i really don't want to have to send my phone back and wait a month to get it back

I have a 128mb transflash card. I take a picture on the phone and save it to the card (I can view it OK at this time). When I take the card and put it in the SD reader on my Windows XP PC the file says it is corrupt. Put the card back into the phone and the file is corrupt.

Anyone having a similar problem? Or anyone had this work successfully? thanks!

The earpiece volume works fine on 4, but is it normal for a slight buzz when adjusting above 4? Maybe it is designed to use above 4 for headset without buzzing. I love my phone, hope this is normal! I don't want to take my phone back. You can test the phone yourself by calling 611 and setting volume to 5,6 or 7. Let me know if you hear what sounds like a buzz with voice on other end. Thanks!
