Weak vibe call alert

Does anyone here feel that the E815 has a very weak vibe alert? I'm comparing it to a V60s. I can barely notice an incoming call when clipped to my belt. I have tried changing to the other vibe choices but I don't notice a difference. Any suggestions?

Get overprice difference at Circuit City.

I bought my e815 at Circuit City NYC Union Square on Sunday for $350 (had to pay full retail) with supposedly free VCast accessory pack (car charger, stereo headset, leather case). Later found out it was being sold for $270 in same store. Went back last night and got $30 back after speaking to 2 different sales reps at the store and calling VZW customer service twice.

They only gave me $30 back because they charged me $50 for the accessory pack.

VZW customer service was great about the situation. They have no access to store sales information, but called the store directly for me to solve the situation. Sales reps at the store Sucked.

Startup/Shutdown Tones

I hear a tone when phone starts up, but no shutdown sound. Is this normal? Just got the phone today, it's charging up. I played with it for a few minutes. Very impressed so far!!! 😁

Adjusting the volume for the keypad

I upgraded to the E815 from a LG VX4500. I thought that was a decent phone. One thing I liked about that phone was when you pressed any button, you could hear it from the speaker. On the E815, I can barely hear it. On the LG VX4500, there was an option to adjust the keypad volume. On the E815, even a volume level of 7, it's still hard to hear. If I remember correct, you were able to hear tones from the keypad the same way you hear it on LG phones.

anyone tried using the EVDO for internet access thru bluetooth.

I have the v710, and i've used it for this purpose many times, it actually have been very convenient for those times when i can't get wifi with my laptop or pda. Basically i want to know if i can do the same thing using EVDO instead of rtx1 or whatever. Cause I live in San Diego, which i know has EVDO, i just don't know if the #777 will work with that. Anyone tried this?

Horrible voice recognition

The voice recognition for dialing is **sometimes** absolutely HORRIBLE. I say "Call Heritage Door" and it says "Did you say 'Call Becki Smith?"

I say "Call Home" and it says "9 1 1 dialing" and of course I hang up as fast as possible.

I went through thiry names and it could not recognize a single one. In frustration, I turned off the phone, turned it back on, and it recognized nearly every name I tried. It has done this several times. It has horrible recognition, I turn it off and on again, and it is great.

What's up with this thing?

And yes, I get echoes, too, but my old T270c did as well.

mobile PhoneTools linking with Bluetooth problem

Hello!

I installed MPT 3.11 and Live Updated to 3.25b, the latest version. I can sync Outlook via the USB cable on either my desktop or laptop, but I cannot get it to work with Blutetooth on my laptop. Every time I try to get it to find my phone, it shows the phone under Discovered Devices in the Bluetooth Setup Wizard, then says "Comm port installation failed" in a small popup titled "Installing device."

Any ideas on how to link it with Bluetooth to sync contacts?

E815: Best phone I've owned to date...

Well I've had the E815 for a week now (well, it's actually my wife's but I've used it enough...and I bought it for her 🙂 )I'm just gonna lay it out there and be blunt.

The Motorola E815 is the best pure phone we've ever owned.

Sound quality is awesome. When I am talking to her when she's on the phone...it sounds as good as our landline...I can't tell the difference.

Signal strength is awesome (It's pulling 4 bars right now, next to my Samsung i730 which is bouncing between 2 and 3 bars)

Build quality of the phone is amazing. It feels very solid...yet very light.

Buttons are very easy to press. I have rather large-ish thumbs...and I haven't miskeyed a number yet with it!

Battery life seems very good so far...it's hard ...

e815 and Acura TL

Hello all

Does anyone have this phone and was able to pair it with an Acura TL? v710 with the latest software was able to link perfectly with all the features enabled, I'm guessing since this phone is an upgrade, it should work as well.

Verizon pisses me off... NEW EVERY ONE!!!

Ok first of all, why does ANYONE sign a one year contract??? WHO is happy with a phone for two whole freakin years? Just sign a one year contract, pay only 30 dollars at a radioshack or 50 more at verizon, and in ONE year you can upgrade early.

Second of all, what is this crap with going into a coporate Verizon store and STILL not being able to get a new phone. My account is in Florida, but for the summer I live in Chicago. Apparently, Verizon expects me to wait until I go back to Florida to buy a freakin phone. If your a national company, then you should be able to access my account NATIONALLY. They tell me to order it online or buy it over the phone, but have any of you tried to return a phone you purchased over the phone or online? Ha ...

quick questions about mp3 player in the e815....

Hi,

I have a couple of questions about the e815. Hope those of you who have bought and tried out this phone could let me know your opinions:

1) Do you think the built-in mp3 player is as good, or almost as good, as a regular mp3 player? I thought about buying a regular mp3 player, but my friend suggests that I buy a phone that has this feature (and I think it's a good idea too, as I don't want to have a cell phone in one shirt pocket and an mp3 player in the other 🙂 ). I plan to buy a stereo headset and a transflash card to use with this phone.

2) Do you know if the Motorola stereo headset made for the v710 would be compatible with this e815?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Skins and Memory

Will there ever be any development for new skins on the e815? That is one of the coolest feature that finally made it into a phone. (For those who dont know the phone comes with 3 skins that change the way the interface looks not just a new "color scheme")

Also, I was wondering if it is possible to transfer pics/videos to a transflash card from the phone and put them on my PC?

Thanks!

Mobile Web 2.0 vs V Cast

Anybody subscribed to Mobile Web 2.0 or V Cast using the E815?

From the information on the VZ website, Mobile Web 2.0 looks very affordable ($5 a month) and uses only plan minutes as I understand. Nights and weekends should be free?

Would be interested in hearing opinions of Mobile Web 2.0. and how it compares to V Cast?

Thanks for any help!

Is the Verizon website reliable for checking the status of orders?

I ordered the E815 on Tuesday, but Wed., Thurs. and today keep getting "We have received your order. Please check back tomorrow" when attempting to check the status. Anyone else having this problem?

Any recommendations for free ringtones (the real ringing kind)?

Could anyone recommend a website where one can get real ringtones - not musical but the ring-ring types. Thanks
