Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

There isn't a way to change the external screen so that it differs from the internal screen is there??

I thought that was one of the things they were going to change from the 710!!

How long will this promo be around for? A week a month???

Can anyone successfully link from the CD ROM that came with the phone or from your browser to the User Guide? I get "Site is Unavailable." I would like to use the interactive manual but can't get to it. I do have a good cached link to the LG VX 8100 User Guide and the phone isn't even out yet but no e815. What's up? 😕

I will probably make the jump to the 815 this weekend, I know they will not transfer my wallpaper or downloaded ringtones I got from GET IT NOW-- has anyone had any luck getting a credit(s) issued for past GET IT NOW transactions to go back and download them again-if they can even be found?

what markets is the e815 offered?

i know one of the previous threads discussed this, but i sent myself and mp3 and saved it but i couldnt find anywhere to apply it as a ringtone. i also tried to change my ringtone and look through my list but it wouldnt come up. i want to make it my sound for when i receive mail and texts. can someone help?

I was looking to buy this phone with my NE2 $100, and i went online to purchase it and the credit is gone! I have to pay the full 2 year contract price ($100) when i could have gotten the phone for free! What gives, i only had the $100 credit for like a month now...did it expire or what?

Hey can anyone inform me on how to connect the transflash card to the computer, I'm not sure whether or not to buy it yet. Do you need a specific port on the computer to hook it up to the computer or it hooks up to any kind of computer?

I found out that you can upload mp3s to your phone by emailing them to yourself. Can you do this with pics, wallpapers, skins, and screensavers? Do you know what format the skins are in? I didn't see any on GIN. Do you know what size the pics have to be in for the wallpapers?

I have been using the E815 for a solid day after trading in my V710. As I have stated before, anyone who brags about the E815 having a better build quality than the V710 is disillusioned, they both have the same plastic type feel, nothing cheap, pretty much cell phone standard fare and nothing to criticize or brag about. Early issues are as follows: I have had some intermittently echoing on a few calls, for some reason the phone doesn't find my BT HS810 all of the time and doesn't seem to sound as clear with the HS810 compared to the V710. You still have to center the ear piece like the V710 just right on your ear to hear clearly, the side buttons seem a little more touchy except for the speaker button which needs to be pressed hard in or...

So when I changed the banner to a custom text nothing happened..until about 20 minutes later "Verizon Wireless" changed to "gardella" but then changed back a few minutes later..then back to "gardella" then back to " verizon Wireless" and so on...My wife's is doing the same thing...any ideas???

Anyways... I have a HS810 headset that I have never used before. I got it from motorola from that contest they had for the v710 last summer. I happily linked it and everything seemed to be working fine.
I was talking on the headset and everything sounded great and the voice recognition thing is awesome when it was working.
I hung up from a call and the phone and headset were idling for I would say about 15 minutes without me touching them or anything. Then I pressed the voice recognition on the headset to make a call. It just beeped. I turned the phone and headset off. Still did not work. The voice recognition button on the phone also did not see...

😡 Picked up the phone at Circuit City for 99.00 after rebate. Great features and I spent a hole evening setting up my address book. The blue tooth worked well with my car and head set. One big problem was the call Quality was terrible. I have trouble believing it was so bad. I was going to drop T-Mobile and replace it with Verizon , but the calls I made did not sound clear. I tried using it in different locations , but it was the same. My current service sounds better.
Had a big problem with returning this phone. I paid cash but they had no money to give me . So now I wait for the check in the mail.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not. For those who aren't qualified for Verizon's New Every Two but still want to get the E815, you can upgrade your phone at verizonwireless.com by going through "My Account" and selecting upgrade. You won't get the discount that you get with the New Every Two but it is $89 dollars less than Circuit City's full-retail price.

I ordered my E815 from Circuit City on Monday and it is supposed to arrive today or tommorrow and i'm trying to decide what accessories to buy (and where to buy them from).

What is the difference between the Mobile Phone Tools Kit and the Mobile Office Tool kit? I'd like to be able to a) sync my phone contacts and calendar with outlook and b) use my phone as a modem for my laptop...

Where is the best place to buy accessories? I also need to get a leather case and car charger.

Anyone know how to use mp3 as ringtones on moto e815 with a data cable? Is there something like seem edit for this phone?

I went on to Verizonwireless.com and did a comparison of the E815 and the V710. I am a little confused about several things that are on the V710 and not on the E815. It says that the V710 is Internet ready while the E815 is not, the V710 has Picture Messaging while the E815 does not, the V710 has 20 Ring Tones and the E815 says N/A, and under Screen Display it lists the V710 as having 11 lines while the E815 has only 7 lines.

Can someone explain?

So I am about to purchase the the E815 and understand from various posts that you cannot remove pics from the camera or trans flash card directly. I know there are hacks for this, my question is:

Without doing any seem or firmware hacks, does having the USB cable and MPT allow for pics/ringtone transfer from the phone (and or flash card)

Also can you sync the phone up via bluetooth to something like outlook for contact transfers?

I read that MPT allows for Outlook syncing, but I am assuming there are referring to this via USB cable, I want to know if this can be done via Bluetooth...

And the last question (Motos site has horrible descriptions) what else can you do with MPT other than sync with PIMS...I want to know if its...
