July 5th Release Date, Nationwide??

Will the phone be released tomorrow nationwide or just in certain markets? A Verizon employee in a New Jersey store told me today that they won't have the phone until the end of the month.
Also, my local Circuit City didn't have it today either!!

$50 Online discount

I've heard that there is a $50 rebate on this phone. First is that correct? Am I going to get the rebate too if I order it online or is the online discount actually just the rebate?

Thanks

Possible Later Release in Some Areas??

I live in the Kansas City area. I just visited one of my local VZW stores. I'm really interested in the LG 8100, but I asked for the Moto e815, since I read on this forum it was released yesterday. The rep informed me they wouldn't be able to sell that particular phone until Friday. I asked to see a demo, and all he could show me was a dummy phone, not a working model, although he told me they had 10 e815's in stock.

My curiosity aroused, because of the later release date, I asked about the LG VX-8100 and he said they were being told the 15th would be the release date for that. He believed they would have the dummy on the 8th.

I know numerous posts have been written confirming a 7/11 release date for the 8100, but after the info a...

Weak Vibrate

So far, I really like the E815. The call quality is nothing short of amazing.

The only small issue I have is with the weak vibrate. I wish I could crank up the intensity. Since I use the vibrate 80% of the time. I am concerned I'll miss a call when it's clipped to my belt. This is only a nit-picky problem with me. Overall, I am extremely happy with this phone.

Very nice phone

Picked one of these up tonight...wife needed to upgrade from her LG VX4400...it's seen better days. Plus she's been yearning for a camera phone.

Phone has nice operation. Menu (I thought) was very easy...was able to figure out most of the settings without even opening the manual. Sound quality is EXCELLENT...I love the keypad...nice big keys that press easily with a solid feel.

The phone itself fees very solid...has a nice sturdy build quality.

Only had it a few hours...but I'm very impressed so far.

Well Done, Motorola!

I'm not that screwed after all.....Lexus

While it seems true that the phonebook cannot be transferred the Lexus GS software/interface does save the last 5 dialed calls and you CAN transfer numbers from this list to the One Touch dialing page. Lexus safety feature only allows calls WHILE you are driving from the one touch anyway, so now I can list the 17 numbers I call the most often and use them. This is adequate for me.

Seem edit for E815

Does anyone know if you need to do the seem edit for the e815 like you had to with the new v710 to transfer ringtones from the tf card to the phone memory.

If so, does anyone know if the same seem edit will work for the e815 that worked for the v710?

no internet sales

How is it that vzw does not show this phone on the internet site for purchase. I understnad it may not be "available" until the 5th but they could at least allow for orders and show the price.

Is Mobile Phone Tools required to sync with Outlook?

Hello!

Is buying MPT the only way to sync the e815 with Outlook 2003 contacts and calendar?

Does anyone know if the Categories in the e815 can be matched with Outlook's categories? I have hundreds of business numbers and a dozen or so personal numbers. I like to be able to customize the contacts by category and sync with Outlook.

Thanks!

Gregg Hill

P.S. Got mine a few hours ago at Circuit City. So far, the only think I do not like is the obnoxious startup sound. Any way to kill it?

very impressive phone..and the price is going to blow everyones mind!

i've been playing with the mot e815 and samsung i730...launches are soon
mot tomorrow
samsung 7/7
the mot..user interface is more lg like..alittle more fun lookin...the keypad is alot more 'surefooted' than the 710 and is very similar to the vx7000
bluetooth works well..overall its alot better than 710..and from the spec sheet will have more bluetooth functions in the bluetooth cars than the 710...small diffs but they are there

the price is rediculous...lets say $200 under what i thought we'd sell it for

for the samsung i730..a quick snapshot...sick!
easiest smartphone to use...much nicer and better equipped than the treo650

Got my E815 today

Great phone, everything seems to function well right now, but I do notice an echo in the ear piece as said by someone in an earlier thread.
