Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Does anyone know if the v710 charging cable I have will work with the e815??

Please, i really need to know, so only if you know for positive, and have tried it or something let me know. can you record a conversation? i had an old LGvx2000 that could do that, and i loved it. it would store it as a "voice memo." i reall want this feature but on a new phone. anyone know if the E815 can do it?

i was wondering if anybody knows the compatability of the Sandisk Transflash 5122mb card for the e815. i am aware that 256mb is listed as the max capacity, but i was wondering if anyone has tried to put a 512MB card into the phone and see what happens or if there is any way to defeat this limitation. thanks

I have noticed that you have a choice of different skins, wallpapers, pics, ringtones and more. I have herd here that you can send your mp3s to your phone via the email feature but can you send pics, skins, wallpapers, screensavers, and games too? I have some games that I put on my old Motorola phone, would I be able to put those on this phone? Does anyone know where I can get other games for the phone? And also what size do the pics have to be to fit on the phone?

not good. I spoke with tech, and they said it was a hole that is being fixed with each new phone. This guy could be just a plebe, but he seemed to be pretty sure about what he was saying. He went as far to suggest that I put my 710 on a family plan to continue to DUN (dial up 1x networking). Any input would be great.

PS. The vx8100 will be the same way. It's not the phone problem it is verizon.

First thing, I have iMac G5. My iMac bluetooth can recognize my E815, but it can not connect to it or sync it up with my address book, also I can not send myself any files. Second, I also have a transflash card and Im trying to set up my mp3's a a ringtone, but it wont allow me too. Third but not least, What are the pic. dimensions so I can place them as my wallpaper? and what are the size,file requirements for my MP3's to set them up as my ringtones. Thanks for any info guys !

You can not set/use MP3 ringtones on the 815.

Also, what's the deal with the phone not coming with a belt clip?

I just got the Motorola E815 today and I am still undecided if I should keep it or not I guess I am still traumatized from my T720.I upgraded from my lg vx6000.
First of all..the speaker phone and volume in a call is very LOW. The menus are confusing. Cant get rid of the Big date and time on external screen. Voice dialing is a hassle for me. I took a few pics and they came out better than my Lg but were still grainy. Dont like how the screen looks when taking a pic.I was hoping for a more "fun" phone from Moto..but found myself having deja vu from my old T720. I wanted to try and wait for the LG 8100 to be released but I can't seem to get a definite answer when it will arrive. I wanted to look at the Lg 8000 but the size and look of the p...

I was wondering after figuring out that none of the tricks work and that the analog isn't in this phone, I am having some doubts about the use of this phone even though I think it is great for what it is.

I purchased this phone because the v710 was totally out of a stock even in the Verizon warehouse! This was to actually make way for the e815 which made me suspect that the v710 is going bye bye. Either way...if moto brought out more v710's to the verizon stores then do u think they are trying to pull the same stuff as they are doing right now with the e815 or do you think all the hacks and glitches will still work to get things to work on the 710. I want BT and ringtones from the transflash card so if someone can't find a looph...

How is the volume on this phoen vs the V710??

When the phone is on vibe and ring.. does it do it at the same time or does it vibrate for 10 seconds and then ring like the 710?

i read in the forums that you can change the mobile phone tools to get ringtones but is there a hack to get them directly off the card.. cuz off the tools the quality isnt that great and off the card its really good..thanks

So here's the deal. I'm getting the E815 in the mail relatively soon and I'm thinking of how I can transfer my phonebook from my vx-6000. I defintely don't want to dish out $12 for the CS dude to spend 10 seconds and transfer the info. Can I do it with a USB cable? Data cable? Bluetooth?

I have my phonebook on my computer [through a data cable for my VX-6000]. Can i maybe e-mail it to the E815?

Ok, I have a iMac G5 with BT.
I've been trying like hell to get my Mp3's as ringtone.

First of I have TF Card. 128mg

1. I tried emailing my self to [email protected], It tells me that "object of unsupported mime type removed"
Once I get my email.
2. I tried sending a bogus pix message attached with a midi file that I converted from a MP3. When I try to save the file it locks up at "loading file"
3. I cant get my BT working right, It sees my phone but it wont let me do a dam thing with file transfering. (Im working on that now, I will post once I get a solution)
4. I have a 128mb TF card which Verizon crippled some how, Now I can not get my MP3's as a ringtone.
So what do I do from here? Anyone?

Sorry if this is dumb.............but I can not figure out how to delete either pictures taken OR existing pictures (wallpaper).

Help would be appreciated 🙂

It seems like the v710 was a nice first attempt at full-featured Motorola phone on the Verizon network. A formidable opponent to the v600 you could say.

But 11 months later (almost to the day) Verizon now has an update to the v710 (or at least that's how they're advertising the E815).

So here I am, about to go over to Verizon, to probably get another replacement v710, since this one is having the same issue 2 other ones had, it sometime decideds not to be able to "charge" out of the blue, and I'm stuck.

Do I demand an E815 or get another v710?

I am leaning towards this phone - but will wait until those early purchasers of the 8100 report their experiences. I would like to know from all of those who ran out the past few days and got this phone and then reported an echo problem - whether they are still having that bad experience (or any other bad experience for that matter)?

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to use the MP3 player on the phone...it isn't even mentioned in the handbook. Also, if anyone knows exactly how to make MP3's ringtones...I'd really like to know how to that too. I had read a previous string saying to use Windows Media Player but that didn't work for me because it didn't even give me the option to "save as" an MIDI file. So if anyone could help me out with this I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
