Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Got the E815 yest at a Verizon store in Seattle, they also threw in a 16mb transflash card and the motorola phone tools (USB to computer connector for syncing outlook and adding MP3/ringtones to the phone).
I can't get the phone tools to recognize the phone does anyone have any experience with this software and this problem? Can you help?

Finally picked up my new E815 yesterday at Circuit City. I had to take it to a Verizon dealer to have the phonebook data transfered (no charge).

I have had two lg phones and this is my first Motorola. Just love it. It is user friendly but maybe not quite as easy as the LG. But the battery has longer life, the speaker phone is great and I have it paired up in my cars with a cordless Motorola blutetooth speaker that clips on the car visor. Fantastic sound incoming and outgoing and with multiple numbers in the phone book it asks which one to dial. Easy to use and you do not have to take your eye off the road.

IS there a trick to sending pictures with sound messages using "create PIX message"? , I read the book followed every step but when i sent it to another cell(other than verizon) phone using my contact list i get an error message.
did I miss a step?

It was just confirmed that the V710 extended battery will be the extended battery used for the E815. The model# of the battery is 66509. It was confirmed through a Verizon store and through Verizon Telesales.

Can someone give post a step by step breakdown on how to use mp3s as ringtones?

Questions:

1) Is Circuit City the only place (thus far) to purchase this phone or will others (Verizon stores, etc.) have them this week as well?

2) I have been reading that the price of this phone for a new two year contract is $99 (after rebates) - is that price going to stay the same or is it just an introductory offer that will eventually go higher (and, if so, how long with this current offer be in force?).

3) Perhaps experienced Verizon employees can help me with this: we are switching over to Verizon on a family plan new contract - my wife's Cingular contract with Cingular expires in three weeks. She would like to carry her old number from Cingular over to Verizon - is there anyway that we can do this now (this week) without ...

I have heard it was $299 at Circuit City, but when it rang up, it came up at $389. Which is it?

I have a 2004 Acura TL. I know Acura has approved the V710 (software version 1.40) as compatible with its Handfree Link. Anyone know yet if the E815 will also have that same compatibility?? Thanks!!

I just called Motorola and Verizon and they informed me that there will be a extended battery coming out. Verizon has it logged in and was able to give me a model number but they said they had none in stock and to check back in a couple days they said with a V-Cast phone its almost necessary to have a extended battery.

Anyone know what the security code might be under settings>>security>>new passwords?

I have the extended battery that I use with the 710 now. Can I use that with the 815?

I didn't get a holster in the Box.. Does it come with one? Did I get the shaft? Did anyone get one with their purchase??

Purchased mine yesterday from CC for $99. They advertised $149-$50 rebate. In my area, if you're a new Verizon customer. They will apply the $50 rebate instantly and wave the $20 startup fee. All you need to do is ask. I signed up for the $39 - 450min plane.

Since I haven't had time to play with it much, I can only comment about the reception. With my old Nokia 6800 from Cingular, there were places in my house where I had very poor reception. Primarily, my electronics filled office/Server room.

I had the chance to test out a E815 today for about an hour at a Circuit City Store i didn't find any problems with the phone in the hour. But i wasn't able to check out the charging port either which is a great concern of mine. So to anyone who already has the E815 if you have experienced any glitches or charging problems if you could let me know i would appreciate it or if you could let me know the better features of the phones as well i would appreciate that as well. I read some reviews in this forum from a couple people but i don't know how much they were able to test their phone and so forth. So any input would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know if this phone has been released in the South yet?

When you get the 815 phone, there are some silly images and animations that seem locked in the Image Gallery under Pictures - some are idiotic animations from the seventies - I've tried to mark them and them delete marked files, but it just won't happen - my only guess is to try and move them to a transflash card then delete them, but I don't have a card yet - ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Or are they locked like the Audiovox 8940? Also what Bluetooth profiles are supported?
