Bad - Bad - Bad

What a joke. Bought an e815. What a piece of junk. Maybe the reception is better but the rest of the phone sucks. Sat in parking lot for 45 min playing with phone. The speakerphone can hardly be heard, even with windows shut. Vibrate feature - about 2 sec and can hardly feel it. Voice Dial - kept dialing wrong number on digit and kept sending to text. If I closed flip, opened it again and pressed voice, it would dial a previously spoken number without even asking. Name dial did not work either. I never left the parking lot and returned it. Got the same results with speakerphone on or off. That was my experience with it. Wouldn't take it if VZW gave it to me for free and paid my contract. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Camera and quality

OK, another problem I am having. I want to take a picture, I go to the camera, look at the screen, the display looks superb...I press capture and the resulting pic doesn't have near the quality, clarity, color as the original view right before snapping the pic.

I thought maybe it was just me shaking or something, but to make sure that wasn't the problem, I placed it on a table and secured it before taking the picture.

I tried messing with the quality, changed it from low to highest with the same result??

Anybody else notice this?

Don't Be Discouraged

My take on the bottom line based on everything I've read and my own experience: most people love this phone but a few are really disappointed. If you're having problems, you're not crazy for not liking this phone, you probably just have a bad phone. I took good advice from this forum (thank you everyone) and exchanged mine today. I had the echo problem, poor reception & sound quality. The new phone was definitely an improvement (echo seems to be gone--too soon to be sure about reception.) The CC rep was really annoyed with me-kept shrugging her shoulders and rolling her eyes 🙄 and telling me I was the only one with problems. I'm not. I tried to exchange it twice, but she always seemed to be out of the phone. When I walked in to return ...

E815 BT in Toyota?

Has anyone tested this phone's Bluetooth capability in a Toyota Prius?

I presently have the V710, which does work after a fashion in my Prius, but only the hands-free portion. Signal stregth, battery, etc. doesn't work, as well as the well-documented phonebook problem.

I am reasonably pleased with the V710, but would consider changing to the E815 if it would intregrate a little tighter with my car.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Verizon is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my story. I had bought a V710 just about two months ago. Was having a few problems with it, (not really) so I took it into the Verizon store and told them it was doing this and doing that. (Which it wasn’t). The lady looked at it for ten minutes and couldn’t get it to duplicate my so called problems. After the completion of a short inspection she was sending me on my way. This is when I act a little upset. I told them I have been a Verizon customer for six years and was never treated like this; you guys are sending me out your store with a defective phone! (Still under a one year warranty) Then the lady admits she has know more V710 in stock and she might get some Tuesday. (Maybe) I start to get more upset…. and she buts in real quic...

E815 Speaker phone

When I purchased my V710 I read alot of reviews and universally the one thing everyone agreed on was that the speaker phone was great. Now that I own a E815 and have been reading some of the comments, I am curious on whether those who have owned both phones can compare the speaker phone. I think I have read a couple of complaints about it but assumed it would be the same calibur as the V710. What are your opinions?

815, the datacable and PhoneTools 3.0

I have the E815, the Datacable from my v710 and Phonetools 3.0. When I attach the phone the PC says, Hardware Found", It tries to install it on it's own and does not find any drivers. Does anyone know where I can find the file it's looking for so I can get this phone to work with phonetools.

E815 reception. is it good?

I just can't find enough reviews because this phone was just released. Could any of you tell me wether this phone has top-notch reception comparable to the v710 and the v265?
Also I'd like to know wether the fact that this phone is not tri-mode will affect the indoors reception that has been so praised and welcomed in the v710 and v265.

E815 without analog reception

I want to purchase the E815, but I'm not sure since it doesn't have analog. The V710 does.

My question is this: has anyone tried the e815 in areas like upper Michigan where most phones switch to analog? I'm wondering if the e815 gets reception in such areas? If so, then I'd get the E815. Although most people aren't concerned with this, some people will know what I'm talking about. I travel to these areas frequently, and don't want to lose reception that I currently get with my older and less expensive model Motorola.

Thanks for any info.

National Access

A disturbing number of the new Verizon phones are listed as "No" under National Access, the E815 among them. Since I travel for work pretty much 4-5 days/week, this concerns me. Is this truly an issue with which I should be concerned? Battery Life & Reception are my 2 most important factors, and the long life listed for this phone has me salivating.

VERIZON Stores-- strike again

Morning all- well here is the latest in how do they manage to do this-- I went by my regular Verizon store today- to my regular phone dude- to get my 815-- news flash-- "we don't have any yet, its such a new phone I will have order it for you- it will be here Tuesday"

I cant really understand this but- thats the story- since the guy usually gives me a good discount on accessories, and the like I hate to just go to another store and try- so looks like Tuesday will be my new phone day- just have to see--

Generic Object Exchange (OBEX)

Does the E815 have Generic Object Exchange (OBEX)?

Unlike the V710, Bluetooth SIG qualified this phone to have file transfer on demand. You would see an extra option on the Copy menu when a picture is selected.

Still deciding on the 815 vs. 8100

Its a shame neither of these phones are perfect 😁

Does Digit Dialing give you the ability to verbally tell the phone what numbers to dial? Example: "dial 7-0-3-5-5-5-1-2-1-2" and it will dial the number? If so, does it work well with the 815?

Also, from a paranoia standpoint, is anyone concered with the high SAR levels the 815 puts out? 1.24 at the ear and 1.31 on the body? The 8100 is significantly less, but then it also has less in the way of reception and battery life.
