Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I am still trying to decide whether or not to return my 815 and get the LG 8100. I can deal with all of the little issues.. but here are the two major bugs for me:

1) The vibrating feature on the ringer sucks! I cannot feel the phone ring when it is in my back pocket (and my pants are actually tight... the phone is right up against me). I have missed every call when the vibrating ringer is on.

2) when using my blue tooth headset, the people on the other end say that they cannot hear me.. it sounds like I am under water or there is an echo...

Any suggestions???

I'm looking for the 512MB transflash card and i dont want to order it online I would just like to go to one of my local stores and pick one up but i've checked their websites (radioshack, bestbuy, circuitcity) but none of them have them and i've heard on a recent thread on HOFO that the 512MB cards were released but i cant find any that are in stores...any advice/help?

i know this has may been discussed before. but can someone explain whether Mobile Phone Tools 3.0 is the right tools (CD and cable) to PC sync my contacts/calendar from OUTLOOK and the phone? there's been previous threads on the VZW issued Mobile Office Kit, but there seems to be talk that it doesn't work right. if the third party MPK is the right tool, can i just install the CD and be able to sync with my PC without meddling with BT, DUN and other .exe files? i don't want put my phone at risk by trying to change the core settings. i'm not a techie. thanks in advance.

Has anybody noticed that sometimes when using the camera, the pictures have this reddish/purplish/pinkish hue towards the edges of the pictures? It's not always there, but sometimes I'll see it on my pics. It's almost a circular band around the edges of the pictures. And it's always a reddish/pinkish/purplish tint...

I was wondering, if you can listen to mp3 through the phone using headphones, could you listen to them in your car using a car tape adaptor (like the ones that you can use with a CD player)? Anyone tried it?

Hey, looking for some advice, my E815 battery will go from 1/2 charged to zero overnight just sitting there. I am coming from an LG with a basic display which could sit around for two or three days and not drain entirely. Is it to be expected with these newer phones with the more elaborate displays that they will run down every day or do you all think I might have a defective battery?

what are the settings under= menu > settings > personalize > sound settings. what is DTMF dialing and contacts? i get the scroll tone but what are the first two? thanks

playing mp3s on the 8100's stereo speakers was a big selling point, but since i know hear you can not use your own mp3s i am turned off. i hear the 815 can play mp3s but whats the point if the speakers suck. help me out so i can choose the right phone.

anyone had a problem on E815 with "UNABLE TO CHARGE" known issue on V710.

I don't know how many people already know this. But if you send yourself big pictures like 600x800 they will fill up the entire screen and look really good for wallpaper without using tile, or center. Use fit to screen and they will come out fantastic. I'm just using google images and sending myself lots of cool images. The pic just has to be big.

So they give you this nice CD-ROM with the phone and it doesn't have any content on it about the real workings of the phone. They tell you to have an internet connection which brings up . . .

Supposedly the online manual for the phone but it's not there. You get a friendly error message that says "Page is Unavailable."

Did anyone out there ever see this online manual?

I need solid hard answers. I dont want any...i think...it should...i hopes...I NEED REAL ANSWERS. Im looking for honest replies not lies.

1. Does the speakerphone work when the phone is closed. If so how does it do so.

2. Can I transfer picture, music, or movies to to the e815 from the transflash or memory card? If so how do I do so.

3. How long of a movie can i record?

4. What is the best bluetooth headset for the e815?

5. What is the best way to connect PC and e815?

From what i've read the only way you can transfer pics, wallpaper, ringtones,ect to the E815 is by using verizon's own pay service? So let's say I have a pic of my girlfriend I want to use as wallpaper. I cannot either with a cable, BT or the transflash card get it into the E815? That sounds crazy...You can do that with moto phones from Cingular, T-Mobile, ect..

well i dont know about all of you but i know I think it would be cool to watch a full movie on your phone, do any of you know any websites that already have converted any movies already to 3gp format?

I have owned the E815 for a week or so and have been avidly reading the forums. I have been quick to temper some of the lunacy by basically saying that both phones are feature rich and for the most part comparable. The more that I read the early 8100 opinions, the more curious I became as to whether I had the best available phone. I am coming from a LG 4400 which served me well for a couple of years and the E815 is a nice change of pace and has a few more up to date features which make it worhtwhile for me.

There was one comment that has been sticking in my mind that alot of 8100 owners are bringing up and that is the build quality issue. I am not sure if I would trade what I consider to be a better screen on the E815 for a "better built...
