Was told that the store has no new units but has one's called FRU's for replacements??

Hoping this is not a refurbished unit.

I just noticed this option and thought that others might have missed it also. If you enter Command Mode by pressing the lower-left side button you can then select Options with the right soft button and switch to Speed vs. Normal. Then, the voice prompts are abbreviated or not at all and makes things proceed much more efficiently when using voice commands.

I am not sure if I read this correctly but on Howard Forums - someone mentioned that the 8100 actually only had beta software in it because Verizon apparently rushed it to the marketplace. I presume the inference is that when permanent software is installed then may of these problems (large and small) will dissipate.

Imagine if all the collected energy that has been focused on this one phone was harnessed for something constructive and not just trying to hack it...

Does anyone know if the 8100 has the capacity to play the dvd's off the sd card like the Moto v710 and E815?

And he can do his "Gimme a break" segment on Verizons crippling cell phones & ripping consumers off on ringtones.

Works great, except with call waiting. If I switch it from the phone, with headset on, it connects and switches back and forth. When I try switching from the headset, nothing happens till I disconnect from 1st call. Then I get the second call as new, with vib, as new call? I have both the BT250 & BT250v. Have paired several times with each, with same result. Anybody else have this problem?

For those of you who enabled the outside screen to always stay on.. will it possibly damage the screen and make it burn out or does it only drain the battery?? I like the option but I just wanted to make sure its not damaging to the phone. Thanks..

I've read the manual but it eludes me.. how do I program my contacts for voice dialing?

I can't see anywhere where I can attach voice names with the contact so when the phone asks for a name and I say "bob" it will recognize it. ☹️

any help would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Not to rely on them!

There are three more reviews today that give the 8100 a bad rap! I could rely on those if they were honestly given - but I have the feeling that they are made up. Why? All three show that the reviewer only joined today (which is possible I guess) - but the dead giveaway is that all three reviewers state: "if you want the best phone then go to the 815". I have never read reviews where all of the bad ones for a product all state that the same other product as being the best!

Also, anyone have any idea how Phonescoop inserts the reviews? They are not in chronological order or for that matter any order.

Okay this may sound like a dumb question, but what is the point of locking a picture or clip? what does it do, cause it seems to not do anything. It probably does and i'm just not aware of it. Thanks. 😕

I just was browsing the Verizon Wireless site and noticed that in my area (08882) and the LGVX8100 is sold out.

I guess that is a good sign that the phone is selling well.

i don't know if this is happening to anybody else, but my text messaging not working, my pix messaging, and my get it now is not working. if this is happening to anybody else or did happened to someone tell me what to do. 😡 😡 😡 ☹️ 😢

Well, changing the privacy and the turning off auto volume seem to have done the trick so far. I had a long conversation with the same person today that I had the issue with the other day and no problems at all this time. Loud and clear the whole time. Let's hope it stays that way. I really like this phone.

As I still await our two 8100s arriving later this week - I was wondering if anyone has had their phones going on the 2nd or 3rd week and would like to make a quick assessment for everyone else. What I am mainly curious about is whether in your opinion the reception and loudness/clarity issues are dissipating (or at least stabilizing). As you become more familiar with the phone and I guess its idiosyncrasies - do you have a more favorable opinion of it as opposed to the first few days that you had it (or I guess a less favorable opinion after seeing more problems arise from your first few days use)?

so i've been reading the user reviews and i have just a few things to say...

almost every single negative review of this phone says that they think it is the ugliest phone ever... among other things that would have been noticed right away...

so heres my question

WHY WOULD YOU BUY A PHONE YOU THINK IS THE UGLIEST PHONE EVER???

obviously you either a. never bought the phone and you are just WAY too lame, have too much time on your hands, and probably haven't heard of the female race yet.... or b. you are just really stupid and buy what people tell you is cool and you really don't deserve this phone, and i would gladly see you owning a motorola phone that i guarantee you will at some point take into get fixed.

The 15 days also starts on the date of order...so if you order on the phone like I did and didn't get it until 5 days later...you only have a 10 day trial...it is on the plastic bag you opened to get to the phone and I also confirmed it with Verizon. Great, Huh?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound mean, but come on people! I have answered on so many different threads, the SAME questions over and over again and I myself, look through pages and pages of threads to get an answer before starting a new one with a question. I'm just getting tired of getting on here and seeing the same things asked over and over again. Why can't ppl just look through first to get there answers??????
