LG VX-8100

check the verizonwireless website. they have the phone listed as having 225 minutes of talk time, not just 180 like phonescoop. i hope verizon's right on this one!

heres how to do it.

either in bitpim or QPST, go into the directory structure.
(if you dont know how to use these programs, search the forums for it.)

go to the brew folder.
then to the folder 16452
then to mf

/brew/16452/mf

you can upload either mp3 files or qcp files. they are both recognized by the phone and both play.

now im not sure how many mp3s you can upload to this folder.

im also trying to figure out how to access mp3s on the card..ill keep ya posted

put it on the card under the folder "my sounds"
go to get it now, get tunes and tones, and my sounds and play it."
Exactly how do you rename it some may ask, I did. Heres how.
"well if you are on windows xp you have to go into windows explorer...go to Tools on the menu bar..then to folder options. then go to view...and make sure you have the "hide extensions for known file types" UNCHECKED. click apply and then ok.
now you will see that the file type is song.mp3
right click on it and choose rename and change the mp3 to qcp"
This worked perfect for me hope it does for u. Its not a real mp3 player but better than nothing.

I just paired my phone to my laptop. I need all of your expertise what do I need for software to try to transfer files to the phone. Please help as I am excited that this is totally unlocked.

How would we contact the board moderator? I think they should remove the zero reviews that are obvious fraud reviews. Who rates any phone a complete zero much less one of this quality? I noticed that the e815 reviews have had the zero reviews from the other day removed.

So what is the point of those files under my sounds? The dreamsequence, ode to joy, etc. Anyway to set those as ringtones, because i didn't see the option and i don't understand what they are there for.

Can someon who actually owns a bluetooth headset please let know what they think on the phones performance with the headset and which one I would want to buy. I will only use it in the house and sometimes car.. thanks in advance....

I have read ALL the posts, and am still confused. I am a happy owner of a VX8000. Because of a Verizon problem I had, I can upgrade to a VX8100 at NO COST if I desire. However, I note that the screen is smaller. Some have indicated that the ear piece and the speaker phone, and camera are not as good. Bluetooth is nice, but I can live without it.

This upgrade is only good now (i.e. if i keep my VX8100, I can't upgrade to something else later.

Should I take the free upgrade?

Is there anyway to ignore a call by pressing any of the outside buttons, like on the 4400 or the 4500? I didn't know if there were any settings that could change it, so that if you press it twice like on the other phones, it ignores the call as well, instead of just silencing the call.

Also, with the other phones, you could put it on vibrate pressing the side buttons. Is there anyway to change the settings to allow it to do that on this phone? If not...i'll survive, i was just wondering because I liked those features.

If I have to switch phones, and I can live without bluetooth, would Samsung SCH A-890 be a good choice? I really like the quality of that phone. Of course I love the features of the 8100, but I might have to switch if the volume issue is not resolved. Does anyone here have any first hand experience with the Samsung?

Is there any way for the VX8100 to recognize a link sent in an SMS?

Does anyone know how add a web page you are on to your favorites from within the WAP browser? For instance, if you are on the accuweather radar page and you want to add a favorite for quick access...

Anyone who uses this forum to bash a competitor's phone just doesn't have confidence in his own phone!!

It's more productive to talk about the merits of your own phone than to talk about the problems of the competitor's phone!

Does anybody have any clue is to how much this costs? Lookin for one but dont knoe how much it is and how much i should work for the cash-a-roni..

I have taken (luckily) only two pictures so far. Those two turned a non-deleteable white, and the standard pics (island, sunset, red V, can you hear me now guy) were gone. One video did the same thing. I was able to retrieve a picture and a video from my sent directory and then locked them. I locked everything else too btw. Somehow I have gone from two white spaces to one without any idea how it happened. Any ideas?

Does anyone ever notice when they flip the phone open, if you do it slowly, on the way up it seems to rub just slightly? It doesn't do it on the way down, but does it every so slightly when opening it up.

Why make a phone with buttons on the front that were obviously made for interfacing some kind of MP3 Player and then disable it?!

I can still listen to my IPOD even though I don’t buy music through I tunes…. But yet Verizon is obviously only going ot allow you to use the MP3 player if you buy through their MOD service?!?! Lame!! On top of it, why disable Bluetooth again!?

LG FINALLY manufactures a sweet phone exclusively to Verizon that is on par with many phones that are currently offered to other carriers… And then Verizon disables it?!?!

👿 I edited a ringer sent it to my#@vzwpix.com recieved the mesage saved the tone played fine not a problem up until it saved in the my sounds file???? well i dont seem to have a way to get from my sounds to save as a ringer is there a way around this or no I do not have a cable i do not have any problems with walpapers screensavers or anything like that just the ringers..
so basically is there a way to do this or no?

Well, I just saw first hand what some people where talking about when they said the volume went up and down. I was talking to a friend of mine for about 20 minutes and during the call he would fade away to almost nothing for a few seconds then be right back at full volume. Very annoying!!! I hope Verizon comes up with a patch for this quickly or we may own two e815 before our 15 days are up. 😡

So my phone has been working great and then suddenly I went to look at my pictures and all of them had turned white. The only surviving picture was one that I had locked. Then the resolution on my camera screen went really blurry. I fixed that by reseting the phone but I can't even get the pictures that went all white to delete. I'm really not in the mood to take it to the verizon store so have any of you guys had this problem and have been able to fix it?
