Phonescoop needs to do something

Heather1 and a few others posted zero out of 5 reviews for the vx8100 and 5 out 5 reviews for the e815 within minutes of each other. I think this should make it obvious to phonescoop what is going on here.
Phonescoop should remove such reviews or their credibility suffers.

So can you hack the bluetooth on this to enable file transfer like the E815??

😉

Just wondering. I bought the phone today as an experiment. Basically, I'm with Cingular and have mediocre reception "in my apartment", so I bought a Nokia 6230 off ebay and my reception has improved signifcantly. However, sometimes it still cuts in and out, so I decided to give Verizon a try.

Overall its pretty nice. Doesn't seem buggy like some of the reviews say, but i've only had it a day. One thing the salesman told me though is that you can transfer "contacts" via bluetooth, but I tried that and it didn't work. So does any know of a way to hack the bluetoot to enable file transfer? I read that you guys know how to enable DUN, so maybe OBEX transfer is next

Its a nice phone, I don't like the idea of paying 25c per pic ...

Another headset ?

I tried a Moto HS850 with both the 8100 and 815, both connections had static of varied amount. I was wondering if this was a headset thing or actually a phone thing or is it just BT in generall.

Battery Issue Clarification!!

I have been reading threads where it says to condition your battery by charging it fully and letting it drain completly before you recharge it. Its pointless with this phone and all phones as that goes. Lithium Ion Batteries which all cell phones have DO NOT keep a memory. They can be fully recharged about 700 times. All depends if you want 700 full charges or if you want 700 small charges. This is why they say the optimal life of the battery is 1.5 yrs to 2 yrs. Its true the more you charge it the less time it will last but theres no such thing as a memory. The old batteries from phones like 2 yrs ago and before it wsa true. Just thought id clear that up once and for all.

Camera software fix?

This camera is supposed to be better than the 8000 right? 1.3 megapixel. In daylight, it takes REALLY GOOD pictures. But in artificial light, it's all grainy and...weird looking. I don't understand why. Is there some sort of software fix that might be developed to fix this?

Other than that, I really like this phone. The camera would be great if it just took good pictures inside too. The pictures on the Samsung a670 or whatever the hell i had that was buy one get one free, had better looking pictures inside. Garrr....my only complaint. 😕 The battery life, i have no problems with, same with the speaker and volume. Those are all top notch, alteast with my phone. 😎

Manual Online

MAC Users: Has anyone, using a mac, been able to open the online guide? I know there is an issue between Apple & VZW and the CDR. Apple confirmed this. Both working on an update.

People!!! REMEMBER to condition your battery!

To have the best battery charge possible:

For at least the first 10 charges, drain the power to where is is almost completly drain (or 1 bar). Then charge it overnight. This will give the battery a "memory" of what a drained and a full battery should be.
If you charge it when it is only half full in the first few charges, the battery will have the "memory" of no power at the halfway mark, when in actuality, it has 50 percent more power.

***Of course, this is true with the older generation of batteries. This may not still hold true with this generation of batteries.***

I got my LG-VX8100! Oh Yeah! I've got some questions!

Ok first I am new to this site! Great site! Thanks for the info on this phone the past few months. We can all celebrate now! The phone ROCKS! First I have a few comments on Verizon! We all know they advertised it as having an Mp3 player on it? Why the hell cripple the real features. Who can tell me how I can get free ringtones for this phone? Does anyone know about Smashthetones? If so how do I get the music to my phone? It sort of works but I am having a hard time sending the files to the phone. Next I am getting a data cable for it. Am I going to be able to transfer files to my phone and what format does it have to be. I heard something about .qcp! What is that about? An or the card too. Why didn't it come with a card? Thats crap! The soun...

quick abbrev feature summary...

size:
vx8000 - 3.76 x 1.97 x 0.93 3.88 oz
e815 - 3.69 x 1.89 x 1.01 4.6 oz
vx8100 - 3.58 x 1.92 x 1.03 4.16 oz

So the 8000 is longer and wider but a little thinner than the other 2. The 815 is a beast at 4.6oz! Thats a significant weight diff!

Camera:
8000 - 4x with macro lens
815 - 4x, no macro
8100 - 8x, no macro ?

Any comments on quality diffs people? A few have said the 8100 camera aint that good.

expn mem:
8000 - none
815 - 256mb transflash
8100 - 512mb mini-sd

Sandisc say that the transflash aint designed to be removed often which suggests your s'posed to upload directly to the phone.

music player:
8000 - none
815 - yes
8100 - prob not, as yet...

speaker phone:
8000: - ?
815 - works closed, good
