LG VX-8100

Hey everyone, just got the vx8100 upgraded from the 8000 and am new to the site. Wanted to know if anyone has figured out how to use media from the card as ringtones or to be used with the buttons on the front of the phone. Any other features that you may have unocked would be great to know too. thanks for everyoknes help.

I will have to say that the moto people are working very hard. Everytime a few good reviews get posted and the rating start to rise someone posts a 0.0 or 0.5 rating with a newly created screenname.

I figure the best solution to the fake reviews other than reporting them is to rate their helpfulness.

Phonescoop shows the reviews that are the most helpful as a default feature.

This way people who read the reviews will see the helpful reviews, reviews that are well written and hopefully positive and make them want to get the phone and enjoy it as I have.

I am not sure if its fair but I rate reviews that are fake as in helpfulness and the well written positive reviews as 5's.

And I am pretty sure the method I have used is working already. I am seeing the average score go up already. Its up above 3 and hopefully will continue to rise.

this might just be a good wakeup call for motorola to keep up just like verizons wakeup
call to keep state of the art phones instead of antique crap that has been shoved at us.
I think if we as consumers stick together on the point that we want quality not quantity.

you dont have to be a total brain to know that motorola is no match for any lg they just never
put durability in thier phones! and as most of us are on the go alot they do get dropped annd its nice to know you can pick it up and its not broken!! moto sucks ive owned them and i have to say thumbs down to moto! 🤣

Just got my 8100 and om on the fence with this phone. My main complaint so far is my camera takes the pix to late. What I mean by that is I will take the shot the shutter sound goes off and then it takes the pic.
I have tried to take a few shots of my cat. i get the shot I want set, press ok hear the shutter sound and then if i move the phone or my cat moves after the shutter sound i get the wrong pic or a blur. my 7000 and 6100 never did this the sound went off and the pic was there..

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix

Anyone else notice that it seems half of the reviews and posts on all these message boards seem to come from people with an agenda. I notice some people that post reviews of phones that give them a zero because of one little flaw or something that is not even true. Who gives a phone a zero if it has any positive features at all? I also notice that the reverse is true. I also notice that judging from the wording, phrasing, and spelling of some of the reviews and posts that some people make multiple posts under different names and also go through and give negative reviews of every model of phone from certain makers. I think it is pretty clear that people from different companies try to poison the waters for other manufacturers. So take anythin...

how do i get ringtones from my sounds set as a ringer? and which sound editor is everyone using? and where do i get the codecs to save them as mp3 or is there an easier way? to go about doing this and in the menu 0 setting for media player when i click on disable/enable nothing happens is that normal or no?

does anyone know most of what these settings are under the menu 0 area or where i can find out what they mean or even what they do sorry for the time consuming question it would be great if i new what most of them were? i am mostly looking for the main ones that i can use for now.. thx just kinda curious 😕

I bought the Moto HS850. No static but sometimes difficult to get in-coming call. Anybody have any experience with the Jabra BT250v or BT800?

How do you get the calls to ring into the BT headset instead of through the phone speakers? Is there a way to get it to announce who is calling through the Headset also?

The reason I ask is that I was driving somewhere today and got a call but it played through the phone and I had to grab the phone to see who it was before I took the call.

Ok, i'm trying this phone out, and I can say that its not a horrible phone. It does have some issues though, but overall I like it and would recomend it. So did a bunch of Motorola E815 fans do this or am I lucky and got a reasonably issue free phone?

Here are some of the strengths and weeknesses so far.

Pros
1. Good battery life
2. Descent reception (with one issues which i'll talk about in the cons)
3. Good speakerphone.
4. Nice size and feel, very stylish
5. Camera takes descent pictures


Cons.
1. Every once in a while I'll here a static whining sound when I place a call. I restarat and it goes away. Sounds like a bug
2. Cripples bluetooth
3. Crippled (or useless?) MP3 player

Has anybody else noticed that the front Display screen stay on while the phone is on the charger, my only concern is after a while that the screen will get burned in. Has anybody figured out a way to have that shut off while charging, even when you turn the phone off it still shows something on the screen.

hey whats up guys, i dont know if u guys followed up with this phone earlier to notice that before it just wrote "speakerphone:YES", and now it says "speakerphone: Full-Duplex". SO i guess they updated it. I hope they update or fix other stuff of that phone to make it loook siiiick wit it! Now i know the 815 is full duplex too..and the speaker can be used with the flip closed...is there a way the 8100 can be used with the flip closed too?? Let me know guys..thanks a lot!

Its not the menu, or the pictures (which suck totally in dark light, the flash is total poo) the crippled bluetooth, the non functioning mp3 player, the fact you have to hack this phone to death in order to get any of that stuff to work, not the screen, or the external screen, or the UI, the look of the phone (although i think its kinda resembles a ghetto asian civic with the spoilers, ground effects, annoying muffler, and neon lights) the speakers (which look like those cheapo boomboxes that best buy and circuit city sell, you know the ones with the big subs on the sides hmmmmm)
ITS THE FREAKIN BATTERY LIFE!!! I can live with the rest of its faults, but the battery life is the pits.

I hate this forum layout. Why can't you just view all the responses instead of going back and forth. Sorry had to rant. I will be getting the 8100 soon though

a.how come the phone keeps telling me "invalid adress} everytime i try to send a vid,or pic message to ANY e-mail adress.

b. how do you zoom in camera mode?in vid mode it works fine but in camera mode the arrow keys do nothing but make it brighter of darker..i want to zoom!!!!! 😈

I just spent 45 frustrating minutes in a VZW retail store waiting to be helped only to end up with a salesperson who has no clue how this phone (8100) works. He tried to tell me that once the phone was activated that the clock would be larger in the screen, which I find hard to believe. They didn't have a working demo to try either which didn't make me happy.

Anyway my question is the following-

Is there any way to make the clock on the external as well as internal screen larger than they are in the tiny red bar across the bottom? This size doesn't work too well for those of us with bifocals.

I am a mac user. How do I connect to my computer? Do I need a driver or just a data cable? I have no manual, didn't get one, and CD does not work. Any help greatly appreciated.
