my phone arrived today EXACTLY when the fedex tracking said it would (4:30pm) - a few hot issues - it DOES have speaker independant voice dailing which is good - i WAS ABLE to transfer a song to the phone as a ringer using QPST - theres a great hofo thread on this.

ask me anythin and i'll try it and let you know what happens. i havent tried anythin bluetooth yet

So technically (after reading like 20 pages of this forum)... the Moto e815 has better reception than the 8100? I'm using a Samsung a890 in the meantime (which I was gonna trade in for the 8100) ... It's really clear and I now get service ( good reception) in rooms I didn't with my LGvx6000. Should I be worried about the 8100's reception and clarity at all???????? oh, and honestly, how is the camera, especially indoors?? The a890 isn't great indoors (it's noisy looking) but outdoors it freakin amazing. 😉 thank ya!

VZW took my phone-in order. Phone is on its way 🙂

Okay, today I called VZW because my 4400 is shutting off at random moments. Well, I don't get my NE2 till next month; but the guy who helped me out is going work around the system so I can get a new phone. He tried selling me the E815, but I asked him about the 8100 and the told me that he wouldn't be able to order it till tomorrow when the 'soft released' happened. Now I am concerned how these other people were able to get their phone before the 14th. The guy interacted with was in the Salt Lake City call center. Any ideas?

Anyone know where I could find the manual to this phone online?

Will the vx 4500 data cable work with this phone?

well i tried to track down and see if my local verizon store had the new 8100 and of course they had no idea. they acted like it was a top secret mission or something related to area 51!
after getting the run around there i headed to the mall and see if a kiosk could help me. and the guy there said that the 15th would be the release date, but he was highly doubtful that it would be released then. i live in Pittsburgh, Pa... and i was wondering what is my best be to get this phone?

also it seems that since some people have been able to get their hands on the phone, that the application on it are actually not as good as once believed. IE: the so called MP3 player, and lack of freedom to get ringtones and such. any information...

I'm looking at either getting this phone or the Motorola e815. I can get the e815 for 99.99 with a 2yr contract, which is what I am currently leaning towards, how much is this phone w/a 2yr?

I know there's already a thread on this, but thought I'd post another one in case anyone else has more questions...

I Just called LG corp support (1-800-793-8896) and they informed me that the LG 8100 will NOT support the 1 gig mini sd card!!!! Do NOT buy that card. It will not work! I asked why it wouldn't work (same type of card, but more memory) and they said the phone was not designed to work with that card.

Does anyone know if the 6100 charger works with the 8100?

I guess I got lucky. I went into a verizon store yesterday, not knowing what I wanted. After deciding on the VX8000, the salesman told me that they sold the last one the day before, and they'd actually sell me the VX8100. I said why not.

So far, it seems like a really great phone. The styling is very smooth, and the blue trim piece is a nice touch. The stereo speakers are definitely cool... makes for a loud, crisp sounding speakerphone.

The camera seems to take fairly nice pictures. I have not yet downloaded any to a PC, but they look quite good on either LCD screen.... both of which are bright and amazingly crisp.

Right under the camera lens is a flash as well as a multicolored LED that flashes when a call or message arrives...

Hey everyone i don't know if u guys already tried but I would have thought the retail stores would have them before the mall so I didn't even bother checking there till today. The guy said he's had a few for a few days (not even on display yet) anyways just thought some of guys should try the mall kiosks. Here's the break down on price 199.99 w/ 2yr contract. minus -$100 new every two. so 99.99 plus $34.10 tax(ca. tax on full price of phone b4 discount) Paid $134.09 got mail-in rebate coupon for $50.00 so eventual total price with new every two =$84.09 by the way though I think I was only the second one he's sold. So the guy was haveing problems conecting the phone, it took about a half hour for him to get it hooked up. Maybe cause its no...

For anyone interested, I just bought 2 8100's at the Verizon Store in Fairfax, Virginia off of Route 50 - near Fair Oaks Mall. 😁

They said they weren't going to be released until the 15th, but sold them to me anyway.

They only have 4 left - so get them while their hot.
