LG VX-8100

I received two instead of one. There was a problem with my first order and VZW placed a second order to make sure the phone got to me. It turns out both orders went through. Now I have a spare! Anyone want it? Let the bids begin. By the way, Cell Phone Guy I believe said there was a $1000.00 check due to the first picture..... PAY UP!

I read quite often that the Motorola V710 reception, and now the E815, is better than that of LG phones. I don't understand how that can be, considering that all cellphones are limited to the same watage. Can anyone explain technically how one cellphone can have better reception than another?

I want to first start to say THANK YOU to all of you on this forum. With your help and preserverence I actually have a 8100 in my hands right now. Verizon did release the phone today official but the stores have a July 15th release date. If you know a store that has it and is waiting until the 15th you can call verizon talk to the rep they can call the store to have one released for you since it is official released today. That is what I did. Verizon talked to the store and when I got there after work I was all set and I actually have one. I am probably the first person in Massachusetts to get it before Friday but like one of you said if you want it badly enough you will be persistent and find a way.

Once you place MP3's on the phone with BitPim, the rew/play/ff buttons on the outside are used to operate the hidden MP3 player. You will see immeadiately why this phone has those stereo speakers on the outside once you play an MP3. It is amazing the phone comes will all this built in, but no instructions on how to use it. The MP3 capability is meant to be used in the future with Verizon's music-on-demand, but you can use it now if you do a little research!

Middle TN Friday or Saturday!

Spoke with several store reps today all said this weekend. One said he'd have them in stock. Another said he'd be able to order it.

I've had the 8000 for 10 days now and have had trouble with the sound and reception quality. All the other features are incredible except the size.

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who has used them both?

I'm particularly interested in how they compare size wise?

From the multitude of postings on the MP3 player and varying information from Customer service reps, I still cannot figure out if this thing will play music or not????

Would any 8100 owner like to make an exhaustive list of pros & cons for the 8100? This would save a lot of time for newcomers who would have to search through 30+ pages of threads! It would be great for everyone on the "scoop"!!

8100 Rules..Mess with the Best, get recalled like the rest 🤣

I have been able to copy music to the phone in the /brew/16452/ms directory by overwriting sounds i recorded in the my sounds menu. And they play just fine (and sound amazing!)

The problem with this is that there is no way to set those as ringer. This is strange because the sounds that come in that folder are ringtones in other phones (i.e dreamsequence.mid)

This folder uses memory from the aplication partition which you can check and seems to alow up to 27mb (flix + Vcast+ apps).


Has anyone been able to actualy get ringtones into this thing yet? I know not many of us have these but those who do let me know ;)

My suspicions were confirmed today! I went back out into the field and found a VZW store rep who said the 8100 will be released this Friday. I asked if I could see a dummy model of the phone and he said he didn't have one. Then I told him I do understand that it won't be released until Friday, but could I see the actual phone, and he said.....Y E S !!! I was shocked!!!
I actually saw and held the phone in my eager hand!!! I told him I'll be back Friday (actually I'm gonna go back Thursday! I'm a pest!!!)

The fit and finish of the phone is OUTSTANDING. I think it's better than Samsung fit and finish!!! (two rival Korean companies!!!) It's gorgeous!!! Overall, it's much nicer than I expected. Now, of course, I'm not talking about ...

To those that have the phone: how does the blue tooth headset work with the phone?

On the Lg Vx8000, when you hold down the middle button on the front, the media player pops up. What happens when that is done with the 8100?

Does anything show up? Does it have a message that shows up? Anything?

Just got an 8100 in Las Vegas. What kind of data cable does it use - same one as the 8000? What about bitpim or other softwear like snapsync/futuredial?

Has anyone in the Cleveland or Ohio area for that matter been able to get the 8100. I have called three times a day for the past four days with no luck.

That the phone lights up like the 7000 when receiving an incoming call. I apologize for continuing to post on this subject, but after 2 years with the vx10 I think I deserve a little bit of color in my life!!! Please just let me know one way or the other! Thank you so much!!! 🙂

Many thanks to the person who posted that the phone was available in Portland. I went immediately and traded in the e815 I bought yesterday. Love the phone!!! I have never liked LG but this one wins me over. I will post a review later today.

Got mine at 800-922-0204. Very easy. I'm in Florida, so don't know about going to the store. Just ordered over the phone. At this point I'm happy to wait a day or two. After all----it's only a phone, you guys. 😎

One thing that has been infuriating for me to read in all of the postings here on Phonescoop is that everyone has been all to happy to report that they either have ordered one over the phone, seen them in their local store or have one in their hands already. But, I have yet to see one person mention the price of the phone, did I miss this somehow and if so would someone tell me the full retail price and prive after rebates?
