LG VX-8100

so i call 611 and they said circuit city has it. i go there and sure enough they do. i had the phone in my hand and she was ringing me up. the phone sku would not come up and she had to call her manager who works at the vzw store across the street. mofo says yea you can't sell that phone it's not launched yet. talk about blue balls. anyways i go over to that store to talk to the manager. he says theres no way he can sell me that phone. then i say when can you sell it to me. he says friday the 15th. i asked is that 110%? he says hold on. comes back and gives me a printout with all the info and it says the 15th. i'll post it but can someone host it for me? thanks.

I have called all the local stores and the 611 telesales thing and no one says that it is out, and don't even give me an idea as to when it will be released!!! This is kinda getting rediculous....does anyone know anything about this!!

JULY 15th my store said that Verizon stores get shipments every Tuesday. The phone is on the slip for delivery tommarrow and for sale on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hold a few days people, It will be better than any other Verizon Phone.as far as the MP3 thing you KNOW soon theyll be a HACK for it.

512mb is there!!!!!!!!! But not all can be used atleast not untill a hack

all this technology stuff is too much for me! im off to get the K404, it gets good reception, has a color screen!, and best of all, a flashlight so when i need my enemas my wife can use my phone to see!

Nothing in NY called a few places

Well, moto's E815 already has 1 problem: half of the stock that went to stores are missing the EVDO software. Motorola apparently loaded the wrong software version in half of the 815's before they shipped them out to the VZW warehouses. Anyone interested in purchasing the E815, make sure you ask the sales rep to check the software before you leave the store to make sure it is loaded in. If it is not, the techs can load it in there in the store. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Sorry if this has been posted already!

Like so many other people on this forum, I admit to being very disappointed after reading the preliminary reports on the 8100. The one feature about which I was so excited--the Mp3 play capability--seems a wash. 😢
I need a new phone, but I guess my antique Nokia might make it another couple of months 🙄
Thus my question for you VZW folks (and anyone else "in the know"): Is Verizon going to release a version of the Nokia 6255i later this summer? And, if so, will they do to the Mp3 player on it what seems to have been done to the one on the LG?

Or so I was told at the Verizon store this morning. The salesman said, however, that as of today, not one 8100 has been received by his store.

Ok, whats a good free program to chop down a full length Mp3 song to 10 secs so I can send it to my phone to use as a ringer???

From previous posts it seems verizon is designating memory for their music service. Does anyone know how much of the 512 MB and the removable mini SD card (another 256 MB max) can be used for apps/video/photos?

Still getting the same run-around, but with more fervor from VZW Online. They claim to know NOTHING about the phone.

I'm in need of some guidance:

I currently have a 710 and have been wanting to get the 8100 since I first saw it on phonescoop. But now with everyone talking about how you can't play mp3's on it and other things that aren't as advertised, is it worth even spending the money (full retail money) on it? I really wanted to be able to use it for mp3's, and I'm sick of that worthless thing taht Motorola calls a camera on the 710. So should I get it?

And here's another part to my dilemma. I work for radioshack and also have a sprint phone, a Sanyo MM 5600. There's nothing on it crippled, I can use a 1GB mini sd card and play as many mp3's as i can, and the camera is 50 times better than my 710.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

sorry guys, i've posted this MP3 issue on other threads but i'm desparate. i just bought my 8100 yesterday. however, i just found out that you cannot play any music on this phone since there isn't a MEDIA PLAYER application installed on this phone. talked to several VZW reps, and some are in the dark. one talkd to LG and said that the application is in the works and they have no idea when this music player will be ready. i also bought a miniSD 512 MB card to see if a music player might pop up, as a store rep suggested. dumb suggestion. as expected, a new application does not suddenly pop up when you insert a memory card.

anybody on the inside know about this MP3 situation?

Was anyone from the Washington area able to buy the 8100 today?

OK now This question has been asked many times but here we go again!!!!!!!!

Now that some of you have the phone Is it worth buying the phone this week, Or waiting until all the feature are enabled?

I wouldn't buy a high def TV when there were no high def channels but now that there are many channels I bought one,

Same with the phone, Why do I want all the bells and whistles when they don't work?

All please a little guidance before I make my purchase this week. E815 or 8100?

I also have the E815, but I am disappointed with the vibrate feature like you, Plus I'm not happy with the contacts layout. I went to download my contacts all 176 and everyone of them come up with a space for a picture, I went into the program and changed the view to listing which is fine, but when you go into the individual contacts it give a big space above the name as if there should be a picture associated with the contact every one is like that. So I had to go into all 176 contacts and change the picture setting to "none"
That sucked, I should mention that my contacts came from IPHONEBOOK.
Plus IPHONEBOOK only allows you to upload 140 or so contacts directly onto the phone. That is really pitiful, you have a phone that can hold a 100...

Many people are REALLY lost when it comes to calling 611. When you call 611, yes, you will be redirected to a VZW employee who works in the store. However, there is something called 'telesale(sp)'.

The person who answers might say they don't have it or that it's not released (this lady said the computer doesn't even say what month) but they aren't the ppl you need to talk to. Ask them to direct you to telesale. They have a seperate inventory and might have it in stock.
