LG VX-8100

Just because the person where you are says the 11th or 15th, that does NOT have to apply for everyone. OBVIOUSLY, in some places, the phone released BEFORE BOTH DATES... therefore, when you confirm a RELEASE DATE, state where you live as people are getting confused as to WHICH date to believe.

Can someone take a picture of the diff. themes, some wallpapers, some screen savers (if it has some) so we can see? You might have to use two mirrors... a stationary and a hand-held. Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone gets the early release of the Sunday paper and if it had the 8100 in the ad to go on sale this week. I know they had it for the e815 so its just a thought

I am with sprint pcs right now and i am dier need of a phone with verizon so i can switch my service over bc sprint sucks!!!. they keep cutting off my pone every other day, and all i owe is $22!!!! stupid people anyways. is there anyone on here that has an extra 8100 or knows who to call to get one ASAP!!!

Can someone who has the phone please tell us whether or not it has a dedicated mp3 player? and if it does, is the mp3 player better then the e815 (fully functional with phone closed)?

Before we get started, I am not disregarding anything said on phonescoop and I am not saying that any information on phonescoop is invalid. I will tell my story as it happened and maybe someone here can bring me some light to the situation.

I called VZ, asked if the 8100 would be out on Monday. She tlaked to here boss and said they didn't know anything about the 8100. I persisted and she called a VZ store and asked them about the then unkown 8100. She came back on the line with news on and unkown release date. in a week or two.
Could anyone put some light on this situation?

a lot of fuss has been made about the mp3 player and rightly so, i wonder if u have mp3s on a sd card can u slide it in the slot and play your tunes that way?

😈u guys will love this,called verizon talked to a phone tech, asked him about the vx-8100 and he said"i dunno we never know til a day before or so,.."you should try this site called PHONE SCOOP they usually know before we do!!!!!!!!! " he then went on to say that because of this site he and other techs were getting a barrage of calls about the lg-vx8100 and that he imagined with so many people calling about it ,it would be very soon for a release!!!!! 😁

Why would you spend so much more for this phone rather than get the E815 for much cheaper, and have all the same stuff? I was totally pumped for this, but now I'm not so sure...

The 8100 HAS 512MB of memory but only 32MB is availiable? The REST is for the ON DEMAND MUSIC SERVICE???

SO you have to BUY music and can't load your OWN?

Tell me why i should swap out my e815 when it at least plays mp3's and has a much better battery life???

I know u ppl who say u don't care bout the mp3 player and already own one, but the fact of the matter is a lot of ppl want this phone for that reason and why this phone "STOOD OUT" from all other phones out there. But now it is shown that the 8100 cannot load mp3's from ur collection and the info from Cnet and phonescoop are proven to be false?

I was at the Verizon store today and I was told by two salespeople that they have instock some of the VX-8100 for release on Monday.

I beleive this to be credible because the reason why I was at the store was to return the VX-8000 that I had purchased recently. I explained that it was too big & I wanted to know my options. I explained that I had an LG before and wanted to stay with that brand. The salesperson told me that they had the new VX-8100 instock, but could not release them until monday. I then asked if there were photos of the phone on VZ website and he said not yet but I could go here to see it.

I also believe this is accurate because in Ohio they are running a special on the VX-8000 that ends tomorrow. That would explai...

I was just looking at the phones on Verizon's website, and they aren't even listing the 8000. They are selling the 7000 at a discounted price still, but no 8000. I remember seeing it on there earlier this week listed as "out of stock". Should we take this as the 'official' sign of the 8100 coming out on Monday? 😲

All the ranting has me really confused! So the 8100 will not play MP3's that I upload from my PC? But eventually it MIGHT play whatever Verizon has to offer?
This is in contrast to how PC World and Popular Science reviewed the phone.
I'm VERY disappointed about this. Yes, I do have an iPod, but it would have been nice to have a few songs on the phone to listen to when I did not have my iPod with me--and not to have to carry so much around!

They are supposed to be for sale in Eastern Pennsylvania on Friday the 15th according to three different VZW stores in my area. How much is the 8100 going to retail for with no rebates, discounts or anything, just a flat out purchase?? Thanks.

What a bunch of scum***s. It is available to order by phone except in the Northeast. They couldn't tell me when that would be. Guess anyone here will just have to wait and if that is the case, don't count on the 15th. That says it is now even in the warehouses. They suck. 😳 😳

How much is Verizon selling the 8100? is there a rebate from LG and Verizon?

Call *611 and try to order it. When the rep. says they can't order it, just ask them to try it just for grins. When they go through the process it will work. The system will order it for some regions now. Maybe you will get lucky. I am the guy that received two 8100's this morning. My rep. friend said it will work if you are lucky enough to be in the right region. Good luck.

hey everybody this is my first post. i went to verizon they do have the phone and its not launching until the 15th. they did say since they showed it to me that i can purchase it. however this is what they have done to it. no you can not play your own mp3's at all. you need to wait for the music on demand/ipod feature that is launching soon.

only 32 mb of the 512 is available to do anything with it. not even with the secure digital card can you download music from your computer to put in the phone. the bluetooth is a nice feature but only to use with the headset basically.

he said it is better than the 8000 because its nicer. my upgrade isnt do for like another few months but i am still going to go and get it now.
