New in Two (9 days away)

My "new every two" date is nine days away (7/20), but I don't know how much longer I can stand my backup phone (Samsung SCH-A310). My LG-6000 broke on me (right side hinge on the flip top blew out - rendering flip useless), so I've been holding off until both the e815 and VX8100 are out.

I went to a couple stores to play with both phones this weekend and besides the issue of not knowing which phone to go with (polls are open), neither store would hook me up until 7/20.

Any ideas on how I can get one of these phones before my new every 2 date and still get the $100?

Can someone also just make my decision for me between the e815 and the VX8100 so I can get some work done and stop reading this board all day? 😉

OK, I got it activated...ask your questions

The VCast is great! By the way, the release is the 15th, not Monday. I got it early by calling my "personal" rep. hehehehe. Here is a quick picture I took with it:

Let go of the MP3 and the 52 mb

LISTEN!

Someone already posted this, but apparently, hardly anyone's reading it. The MP3 player is built for the Music program coming out... I'm pretty certain of that! YOU CANNOT transfer music through the card, so EVEN WHEN THE network comes out, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO! These phones are built with pieces and technology, not magic. Perhaps the phones will be updated and sold for the capability of transfering music... who knows, but if you have a phone now and you can't transfer music, then deal with it.

Also... the space is not NOT being used! The 52mb may not be what you expected, but the other space will OBVIOUSLY be used! All of that space is not needed, not even for someone who plans to download EVERY song from the music network ...

8100 Vs. 8000 Camera?

Was wondering if anyone knew how good the camera was on the 8100. I currently have the 8000 but would like the 8100. The camera on the 8000 is terrible. Any input would be great

512mb memory

Yes the phone does have 512mb memory. Nowhere did it ever state that you can use all of it for MP3's we just assumed. I found out that its seperated in parts for pictures, sounds, get it now and so on.

Oh and again i say in NY atleast July 20th......but i hope im wrong on all accounts

mp3's - summary?

So, you cant use the full 512mb memory now but you will be able to use it when verizons mod service is active (3 months +?)
Does this mean that you will suddenly be able to load your own mp3s or will you only be able to load those purchased? Anyone know? Cos if its the latter you'll be buying a freakin' lot of songs to fill 500mb.
Anyone know anything about this MOD service?

mp3 Player Question

I understand that right now you can't transfer mp3s from your computer to the phone. But when Verizon launches this music service, will we then be able to transfer our files to the phone? Or does all the music on the phone have to come from the music service?

The 611 Experience

I have called 611 about 20 times this last week and have been told just about every thing that I have read here in the forums. During these calls I have been able to get one CC rep on the 7th in the Utah call center to actually order it but do to my travel schedule I opted to wait until the 11th then the date got pushed to the 15th. So on the 8th I called and called and called some more finally getting a CC rep in AZ call center to order it then she tells me its just going to be held until the launch date which she tells me is the 15th. So I wait and all of a sudden a picture of an 8100 shows up in the forums. Now I am really pissed, so I start calling to order mine just to be told the same old #%^$#. Finally tonight I call and get this CC ...

Official Release date July 15th in Sacramento

I stopped by the Verizon Wireless store in Sacramento today to check, the representative said that they already have the phones in stock and they'll be released on the 15th. I asked if they have less than 10, she said the amount they have is much more than that. They still have no idea about the price though.

Based on reviews, e815 is reception king

I am a cingular wireless customer who does not care about anything other than reception. Cingular is terrible. After doing my homework (a little too late) I learned that Verizon is the best phone carrier in the nation.
With this said, I narrowed my search up to 2 choices: The Motorola e815 and the LG-VX-8100.
I also discovered that Phonescoop is the best website when it comes to cellular advice and feedback from users.
Anyways, after reading the forums, It is evident that e815 users seem more excited, even astonished by the clarity of their phone.
Tomorrow I will purchase the e815, test it in all corners of my thick-walled buildings and outdoors. If after 15 days i'm not satisfied i will purchase the LG phone.
Please tell me your DETAI...

8100 is RELEASED according to 611

I live in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. I just called 611 to ask when the phone will be released. She responded by saying that it is released!!! She said: "it is no longer listed as coming soon, it is released" I could barley contain myself, but I proceeded to ORDER IT! It is supposed to arrive Tuesday, (just two days after i placed the order!!) and apparently there was no shipping charge!

My advise: if your store keeps giving your different dates (or no dates at all) try calling *611 - it can't hurt.

VX8100 Release

Per VZW national sales rep here in Omaha, the plan for release of 8100 was to be as follows (obviously it didn't work out quite like they VZW wanted it to) --

The 8100 was to be available via telesales starting tomorrow, Monday the 11th (although some obviously have been able to order it today).

The 8100 was to physically appear in stores starting Friday 15th (although some stores apparently received it this past week and have sold some).
