Saw the 8100 Last Night

I saw the 8100 last night - an employee at a Verizon store brought it out for me to look at but couldn't sell it yet - got two different dates - the 11th and the 15th. Price around $199 before rebate. Looks much much better than E815.

BT question

Alright, which bluetooth headset is everyone getting? I want one that is STURDY (will NOT break in your pocket if it gets smashed or something), has a button with many features, and possibly vibrates.

What's the next big feature in a phone? btw I want the 8100 now

Ok I am using an LG VX6000 now. Coolest phone obviously when it came out, but GEEZ this stuff advances quickly. What is next?

-Credit card built into phone where you just wave it up to the reader.
-Lighter that comes out of the antenna for lighting fireworks in Missouri and bordering states
-Driver's license, car registration and proof of insurance built in.
-laser printer built in for those moments when you run out of business cards and need to print one
-A/V ports for watching digital cable through the phone
-garage door opener built in
-remote keyless entry and ignition
-peel-off handy wipe for after eating cinnamon rolls
-laser flares for those awkward and embarrassing bottom-of-the-canyon rescue efforts
-noises to repel ...

Have Dilemma, Advice needed please

After contacting Verizon Wireless through email last week I finally got a response to when my contract runs up.

My contract is up in January of 2006 but I am eligible for an upgrade (NE2) as early as November. My only problem is that I really, really want the LG VX8100 ASAP.

I went to Circuit City on the 3rd and the rep there told me if I upgraded my plan I could get the VX8100 at the promotional price when it was finally released (He would not say a date but would not disagree with me when I said the 11th) Keep in mind I went on the 3rd so if the release date has changed I have not double checked.

Now the only problem is that I was actually planning on lowering my contract. I pay 49.99 for 500 minutes and was hoping to go down to 3...

Question for VZW EMPLOYEE

Hello! I saw the thread with the new pics where you indicated that you had posted them on Howard Forums. I would like to ask you a question regarding the e815, please.

I've posted this question in the e815 forum, but wasn't sure which way I'd get the fastest answer.

How is the e815's external display compared with the v710's external display? I know the v710's display was really "blocky" looking and was wondering if the e815's is pretty much the same. I'd really like something that has a good external display. It doesn't have to be "top notch", I just don't want to be looking at a bunch of blocks!

Thanks! 😁

New Verizon Print Ads

Noticed today in the newspaper that if you buy a V-Cast phone you get a camera phone for free. The phone is the Motorola E815.

West Region

Called VZW rep - said phones are in stock in West region but nowhere else. Said I could fly West and activate an account there if I wanted one (I'm in the midwest).

eight0eight

😁 I just wanted to compliment eight0eight on how knowledgable he/she is. Everytime I see a thread with his/her reply on it, I can rest assured that it has beneficial and more than likely correct information on it.

Not to short change any other VZW employees or savvy customers that know their stuff and post here. It's just that eight0eight's replies have really stuck out to me.

I can honestly say, as a new VZW employee, I'm almost learning more from him/her than my 6 weeks in training! (Yeah I know that's sad)

Thanks eight0eight!!

Any Chance of . . . tomorrow?

Okay, okay. I'm antsy. I spoke with the local VerizonWireless Zone store yesterday. SHe is most hopeful the 5 8100's her store is due will be there tomorrow. And if they do arrive then, she has promised me one of the five. Hmmmm. Suppose it will happen?
Sheesh! If the release date is the 15th, well, this is as bad as waiting for the new Harry Potter on the 16th 😎

Played with 8100!!!!

Today I played with a 8100 at a store out in the west coast. The phone looks and feels awsome. Trust me it will be out on Monday maybe not in all stores but can be ordered from Customer Care.

Any 8100 speaker phone info

For those of you lucky enough to have one... how is the speaker phone? The e815 is week. I have a vx4400 without a speaker phone that is just as loud.

Switched to the 15th!

Not to upset anyone, but when I was showing the page that previously stated the 11th as the release date to a co-worker, I noticed that the date was changed to July 15th. So don't get your hopes up, some markets may release them on the 15th. I can verify though that we have a shipment on order and should have them in stock next week, as to when they will let us sell them is unknown at this time for sure. I am in the west area (Arizona).
