Desktop charger for LG VX8100?

I know that Lg apparently does not like desktop chargers, but is there one out there anywhere? I saw one at best buy for Lg's but it did not fit the 8100.

thanks!

LG-7000 or LG-8100...

I've had another bad experience with the 8100.. my mother's! The camera was awful and there was still an earpiece problem.. muffled sound and not enough volume. This was a brand new phone with the latest update.

So, after 7 days, I exchanged it for a 7000 which seems to have the best reviews here on PhoneScoop.

BT, Mp3, etc. are not important for her. Just a good quality phone with a fairly decent camera.

So far, the 7000 seems to be quite good.

Any other suggestions or comments?? The Verizon rep said we can have another 15 days to try out the 7000.

Thanks!!

🙂

Bluetooth Headset - my two cents

Just relaying my experience thus far. As a certified geek, I did all kinds of research, and, yes...with every BT headset, with some people they work great, with others they don't - so take this with a grain of salt:

1. Started with Sony Erickson HBH-662 (updated version of popular HBH-660). Rave reviews from most. I had two major issues - the illustrious ECHO problem where the person you're talking to hears their own voice (yes with v4 software update and volume adjustment) as well as frequent random disconnects from phone while having a conversation. I contacted Sony and Verizon - no help, so I returned it.

2. Next went with Moto HS850 also raved about. Features are great, but, when using it the person on receiving end all complained ...

2GB MINI SD IS HERE

This company advertises it in their product catalogue and even has a picture of a 2GB miniSD card on the top of the page. As far as I can tell though, you can't buy it off their site...interesting.

Idea about Camera Delay - Question

I'm on my second 8100. This one has a bad camera delay, whereas my first one had no delay. I was looking at the camera options tonight, and under "Self Timer", noticed I have three choices; 3 seconds, 5 seconds, or 10 seconds. I might be wrong, but on my first phone, the one with no delay, I thought there was also an "off" selection under self timer. Can you please confirm this? Does your phone have any choices other than the three time limits?

I'm asking, because it seems that my delay is about three seconds.

Thanks.

I Finally Got It!!

😢 Well folks, I finally said goodbye to the old faithful Audiovox 9500 last night. Now I'm the, I suppose proud, owner of the LG VX-8100.

I guess I better wait a few days before I post my review, by then I'll probabaly feel better about the 8100. Right now I'm still depressed an in denial. I really really really liked my old phone. The funeral is today at 1pm if any of you wanna come. Actually my real problems are that I:

--Have to manually re-enter my 170+ member phone book (Verizon could not seem to transfer my old one)

--I lost all my old downloads and hacks. Oh well, at least I'll have some stuff to keep me busy once football goes off this weekend.

--I'm a cheap a**, so I'm not big on having to replace all of my ext...

For Mary H500 headset

Mary, I'm curious about what you find to be the major differences between the H500 and the HS820. What makes the 500 the better headset?
I use the 820 and it is not the greatest, but it suits my needs. Thanks

Bluetooth headset question-can't find one that works well!!

Tried both Motorola BT headsets that the Verizon store sells, as well as the Plantronics one, and none of them worked well on my 8100. All had a fair amount to a lot of echo, too much to really use on a regular basis, and there was often static. I know this has been covered a lot on this forum, just thought I'd see if there were any updates on this, new BT equipment etc.

Camera Delay...

I often thought people were crazy when they said they didnt have the camera delay, but I just received my new (FRU) phone due to some problems with my ringers and the new phone has practically no delay! I was really surprised because my previous phone had a really bad delay. And this new phone did not come with the new update on it yet. Crap I just thought of something, what if the update gives it a delay, that would be my luck!

Windows Media Center files and Quicktime Pro

I have a couple of movies and tv shows saved as DVR-MS windows media center files. I usually use Roxio 7+ to convert them to avi, wmv, and mpeg files.

Has anyone used Quicktime Pro with Windows DVR-MS files?

I assume that I will have to convert the dvr-ms files to avi, wmv, or mpeg and then convert those files to 3pg with Quicktime pro.

So my game plan is to convert dvr-ms files to Pocket PC size wmv using Roxio and then directly convert it to 3gp using Quicktime pro?

Will that work?

Software Development

Hi,
Been a visitor for a few weeks. Thanks for all the great information and entertainment.
Are there any software developers here? Is it possible to compile applications to run on the 8100? If so, can you point me to some documentation?
Thanks,
JoeBass
