I'm getting so upset. My new 8100 phone has been on the Fedex truck since 8:30 this morning and they still haven't delivery to me. And it's 12:00 now. The Fedex truck has through here once today but no phone. I'm getting very upset, but what can I do?

This was just posted on howardforums and I can confirm that it works using bluetooth. Have not tried using the cable yet.

You can enable DUN for the 8100 by
pressing menu
than 0
it will ask you for a security code which is 000000
once in the servicing menu you will see something like data settings
you can scrow down till you see
cable dun
bt dun
select either one and choose the enable option by highlighing and hitting ok
once that is done just hit clear till you are completetly out

I don't understand why I can't use the volume keys to change the ring settings when the phone is closed. I mean, wouldn't that seem logical?! Why am I forced to open up the phone to change from vibrate to ring, ring to silent, etc.? What's the point of buttons that don't do anything in any given state?

I guess Motorola's the only company that "gets it".

Does anyone know how I can make the Mp3s on my sd card as ringers, I can't seem to do it!? Any ideas?? 🙄

😈 OK.. so I finally got my 8100 connected to the broadband service and I just want to know if this is safe or not?? anybody else here using the free broadband service thru EVDO??? has anybody been caught??? can they tell if ur using the phone as a modem?? or does the usage looks like regular Vcast usage???

I just switched from sprint to verizon and decided I wanted a good phone so I decided to get the lg 8100 this phone is awesome. The lg 8100 has it all but I am having trouble with one of the features, I want mp3's on my phone and I cant find a data cable is there another way to do this or does anyone know where I can find a data cable with software that allows this. Also stupid ? about voice mail with sprint you are able to delete messages without listening to them can you do this with verizons vm... thanks

will there be updates before december to fix the volume issues, camera issues and the other issues this phone has with software and stuff?

Okay... I spent the better part of last night trying to do conversion to 3GP for a few things. Unfortunately 99% of my files are DivX-encoded WMV/AVI stuff. The other few things are MPG-1.

I've been able to successfully convert a few things using SUPER, but it seems to not work on any of the DivX stuff or MPG.

I have QT Pro, but it apparently can't strip out the audio for MPG-1 and thus all the 3GPs come out w/ no audio.

So I'm looking for FREEWARE here to do this. I can't use QT Pro for WMV and SUPER doesn't want to work either. The Nokia thing wants a Serial Number. There's some Benq thing out there too, but I tend to shy away from stuff made specifically for other hardware.

So what the heck can I use guys?

does the update fix dropped calls and low volume? I am really getting sick and tired of this..........if this phone is messed up can I get a refund and get a different phone?

Has LG released the extended battery yet? If so, how much longer does it last and how much does it cost and is it worth the price? If not, when will they be releasing it?

is there any sort of free program that i can download where i can convert from different formats to mp3 and also change the bit rates and all that jazz?

Does anyone else here have 10 LEGALLY downloaded GIN ringtones on their software version 4 enabled 8100? I ask because my phone is STILL having that static ringtone problem. When I put the mp3's in the player and listen to a song my phone will periodically reduce all my GIN ringtones to STATIC. Even the VZW default tones diaappear except for Rintones 1-4 and Low Beep Once, Low Beeps, Loud Beep Once and Loud Beeps. Ready for the really strange part? When I press Ringtones 5-10 the EQ from the MP3 player becomes super imposed onto the ringer menu screen. I have switched cards, ran Nortons, McCafee, and EZ Armor antiviral programs on pc. I have swirched out the phone 4 times in 2 wks. I even downloaded ALL NEW ringtones. I am at my wits end VZW...

I LOVE THE mp3 PLAYER!!!

but theres a problem. some select mp3s just wont play!!! There's nothing different about them, their file extension is also mp3 (even if it wasn't i wouldnt know how to change that), but when i put it onto my sd card and then put that into my phone, it wont even show up with all the other songs. But then when i put the sd card back into my computer, the song is in the my mp3s file!!! and this happends with just random select mp3's i dont know why. Does anybody know how to fix this?

what is the update and how do i get it? i live in columbia, sc

Ok, umm why did LG put the mp3 player controls on the "outside" front? This irritates me cause when the phone is in my pocket and I lean against something it gets into the player and plays a song!! grrrr, I hate that 😈
