LG VX-8100

is the update for the 8100 out yet? what is it called? and do i just go in to a verizon store and ask for it?

How can i check what version my phone is?

Has anyone here tried the Plantronics Voyager 510?

I am looking for a data cable so I can transfer my phone book to my computer and get on the internet in the car through the phone.
I bought a data cable and software on ebay and after I bought it I noticed that the software doesnt support transfering the phone book or ringtones etc for the 8100, it will only work for getting me a connection to the internet on my laptop.
Does anyone know of a good software that will transfer the phone book etc?

also, do I need the data cable to get the family guy and Dave Chapelle TV shows on my phone?
I see the threads with links to the clips but I cant find instructions on how to get the shows from my computer and onto the phone.

Do they have to go on the miniSD card?

😡 Ooops...sorry so long bear with me.
So I had the wonderful LG VX8000. Loved that phone. It got water on it. Speaker out and it says "car kit" constantly and the message "battery full" pops up when it wants. So since I was unable to upgrade since I just got the dang phone in February (and no I didn't get the insurance because it sucks! All they send you is refurbished CRAPOLA). So my dad has this line on his account that is not being used very often and he lets me upgrade that line to get the VX8100 cheaper than outright price. So I get it and am super excited.....all too soon though. The phone sucks. I am so disappointed. I love the looks of the phone, the flashy lights (yes I'm a girl), flix screen savers. What's the bottom line. I have the V710 from Verizon and am not happy with it. I am due for an upgrade and was wondering which one of the two to get. Can anyone please give some advice. Someone who has researched it or has had both. It's got to work well with Bluetooth.

I received my update in Pittsburgh Friday and everything seems to be working ok except all my saved pictures I had on the camera now have a big question mark on them. I think I remember reading that someone else had this happen to them but I couldn't find it in the forum.

Does anyone know how to remove the question mark and if these pictures can be saved? Thanks for your help!

so i finally got the update in simi valley california.... i changed the extension of some songs files from m4p to mp3 and they will not play. these songs are itunes ripped. whats the problem. thanks for any info.

i recently got the 8100 and this annoying thing keeps happening. every once and a while sometimes more than once in a day the phone shuts off for no reason when I'm using it. it dosent happen when I'm talking just when I'm pressing buttons, like texting or going through the menu. anyone know why this is happening

also what updates are available? what do they do? should i get them or do i need to get them?

Does QPST and bitpim still work after update?

The software update was pushed nationally last night at 9pm. If they say they do not have it ask them if they power cycled their flashbox because that is what they will need to do. My source was Howardforums...from ROC A FELLA. Good luck!
