LG VX-8100

do pictures only get sent as attachments? Is there a way to send pictures in the email itself and not as attachments? my other carrier dosnt use attachments for mms. i liked it better that way. thanks.

I had the update done today. I didn't notice until I got home, but now I don't get the EV signal indicator. I can't get VCast. Also, I can't dial *228. When they did my update, it took no more than 30 minutes. I did not lose any data - pics, ringtones, etc. I did check and my phone now says version 4 in the software, and the My MP3 folder is there. I have been meaning to order a mini SD card, but keep forgetting, so have not yet tried the mp3 player. I'm really annoyed about not having EV capability though. I got the update late in the day, so couldn't go back to the store after I discovered the problems. I'm going back tomorrow, and hope the tech will be there. Anyone have ideas of things to try, or am I stuck until tomorrow??

I went to the Wall St. store in NYC to have my phone updated. After waiting there for 1 1/2 hours they told me that my phone would need to be replaced since it would not take the update. I asked them to make sure that they transfered all my contacts and photos to the new phone. I then heard the worst possible answer.... contacts and photos?" I was told that my phone crashed during the update and everything was wiped out. Yup thats right - nada-nothing-zero. I am waiting to hear back from a district manager on what kind of compensation they are going to offer me. I would make sure that they back up all your phones info before getting the update. I finally bought the 8100! I knew I was going to have trouble with the closest verizo retail store in Las Vegas. I tried getting just the 8100, since it's 149.99 minus my NE2, and the 50.00 mail in rebate. But she was giving me double talk, about how the rebate applies to my NE2 hundred dollars off. She tried shoving in an accessory package. Then she came up with the price of 79.99 up front. She seemed surprised when I started walking out.

So I went to circuit city and got the phone for 50.00 with no problems. Then I went to a different verizon store and got the update, even though I waited an hour, cuz two other 8100s were being updated. Circuit City had to up the price a penny to 150.00 so the mail in rebate would apply right.

can anyone explain to me how bitpim works? do you need a cable to attach to your phone i mean whats the deal i hear people are making mp3's as ringtones with bitpim...any help would be great...thanks

Are the pics stored on the additional memory card on the 8100 able to be directly downloaded on my computer (similary to the ease of a digital camera?)

Someone please figure out how to get custom ringtones onto this phone from source other than "Get It Now" or using the data cable. I am on mac and do not think I can get the correct drivers for my computer. I am jonesing for my star trek ringers but the only verizon application that has them is Xringer and it is not compatible with this phone.

what cables can you buy that works with this phone?

Im just wondering if you can make MP3's into ringtones...i did it with my motorola V710 but im not sure how to do it with the new LG 8100 phone any input would be much appreciated...thanks

Hey all, anyone manage to organize their mp3's and have the mp3 player recognize playlists yet?

Please, someone tell me how to rename files (copied to computer from CD) from MP3 to MID so that I may play them in MY SOUNDS. I can see where to give the file a new name (ex. change the name of the song), but not where to change to file TYPE.

Thanks to you guys I now have Seinfeld and Family Guy to watch on my phone, I now have the update and can use my MP3 player to it's full potential (which I probably wouldn't even know about if it weren't for this place) and my phone is now the "total package" and I couldn't be happier. I always have loved this phone since I got it, but now I love it even more! THANKS A MILLION!!!!!

I just got the update in Los Angeles. The Santa Monica and Culver City stores both have the update available.

I've read different stories on here. Does the 8100 take a 1GB card, or is the highest 512? If it does take 1GB, can you use it to its full potential? Thanks.
