LG VX-8100

I was just wondering if everyone that got the software update is always roaming, or if it is just my phone? I am still attached to a verizon tower, but the phone is telling me I am roaming.

If anyone has still not purshased a mini sd card I am just leaving a suggestion on where to get a good deal. www.Mysimon.com (product search engine) Or www.buy.com (that is where i got mine 27 bucks for 256 with shipping and i received it in two days) Now if ohio would just get the damn update i would be set

Looking for a little help. I have converted video into .3gp format using Super and Quicktime. I have followed all instructions as written in this forum. I transfer the files to my SD card and they show up in the my flix folder on my phone but will not play. It just shows a blank white screen with 00:00 for the time. Some videos work and some don't... Anyone else have this problem? Are there only certain types of video that can properly be converted to .3gp? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

the motorola h500 ....ha as usual motorola is way behind in technology the headset hangs on the outside of your ear getting in the way and easily bumpped off your ear Im giving a thumbs down!! the jabra on the other hand tucks neatly behind the ear staying put alot better
and the ear piece fits right into the ear canal
so you can even hear in noisy places. doesnt motorola know how to make anything useful? if
so ive never seen it from them.

How can I access My Sounds without going through the Get New Tones thing?

i have a friend that has an lg vx 8100 and in his picture gallery the pictures he has taken just show up as a box with a question mark in it.you cannot open them or erase them. anyone know how i can help him out?thanks

Okay guys, question: After VZW screws around with the software to meet their desires, what makes you think it will be any better than the 8100, the 710 and the 815? The format for their software seems to be the same on all their phones, from what I've seen. They will disable the same features as the 8100 and look what that did. 😲 😲 😲

Anyone have luck with any manner to get mp3's to play as your ringtone...without having to pay vsw its usually extortionary fee?

I'm getting the impression that the update is spreading pretty quickly across the country, but I wanted to pass along the info for NE Colorado as I haven't read anything about that yet.

I just called the Verizon store in Fort Collins. PH# 970-377-2054, zip code 80525. I received an immediate response from the tech that I found to be very satisfactory.

She said that the update was indeed available TO CUSTOMERS WHO ASK FOR IT. The software update has not been advertised around here because it is still being tested. However, she feels it has been working fine, so it is available to customers who request it.

I think I might just go request mine now! 😁

I'm ready to upgrade since my T720 is on its last legs...Is the vx8100 worth buying? Do you think its worth buying with the possible a970 coming out?

This wouls be important in deciding to switch from the 8000, to the 8100. Thanks

i called the store to see if they have any in stock cause i am picking it up today and he stated the price just dropped yesterday to $99.
thats with the 50 dollar rebate. so after the rebate it comes to 49 dollars. thank god my upgrade wasnt due until today.

I saw and touched the A970 today at about 12 noon at the BestBuy store in Westbury, NY.

I did not see it in operation... the sales rep. said the AC adapter wasn't available and the battery had run down.

He said they have 2 in stock, and the price is $350 (not sure about rebates).

Anyway, I'm a little leery about the swivel screen... it seemed a little wobbly.

The quality of the phone itself looked and felt OK, but NOT as good as the 8100. The 8100 felt SOLID in comparison!!

When the Verizon stores have the 970, I may give it a try before I actually get the 8100.

Then I'll make my final decision on this whole issue!!

If you return the phone within 15 days and get a replacement, does the 15-day trial period begin again for the replacement phone? 😕

I just got home from my local VZW store (they are going to know me by first name pretty soon) because of an issue with my headset. I purchased it at the VZW store on 8/12/05 and about i noticed that i was starting to get some static with it. Looking closer I discovered the rubber casing was coming apart near where the wires attach to the jack and you can see the wires. When taking it to the store i was told i would just have to purchase a new one. After calling Customer Service I was told that they could not determine whether it was a manufacture problem or if i did it by possibly pulling the cord too hard to remove it from the phone...only problem with that is the jack is a L shape...so i cant pull it out the way. fargin a , i got the damn thing working and it is awesome . i personally want to thank all of you for all your help and input. the problem was even though the songs said they were mp3 , they werent , i downloaded a free mp3 converter ,did it, and it worked. F#*K Y*#H. im about as happy as a pig in s**t. thank you again all of you.

I just got the 815. I don't like the way it looks and I don't think it is as user friendly as my previous Lg6000. I am thinking about taking it back and getting the 8100, but I read that there are alot of problems with this phone. All I need is good reception, battery, and a speakerphone. Would you recommand me trading out for a 8100, if so why? Thank you in advance. 🙂

Can anyone tell me what is included in the box when you buy the phone? I'm guessing I will need to buy my own car charger, etc.. Thanks.
