So, do you think Verizon might enable it on the 8100? Why would they enable it on one VCast phone and not the other?

I hope they're finally realizing how ticked-off their customer base is over this greedy nonsense! 😡

I just got the 8100 and am a bit confused about the charger that came with it. The manual says that you plug the round end of the charger into the phone and the other end into the AC outlet (obviously). But the cord that came with my 8100 does have a round end, it has a flat end. To charge the phone I have to take out the little rubber piece on the bottom and plug the cord into the phone there. Did mine come with the wrong cord? It would be a pain to have to take out that little rubber thing on the phone every time I want to charge the phone. (The over/under on me losing it is 3 days!)

(By the way, I have a feeling I might be missing something obvious here, so please be kind!)

Is there any way to compress the file size of the ringotnes? my ringtones are at 1374KB, when the others are at 173KB.

WTF wen i put it in vibrate only the phone still rings 75% of the time

I was fiddling with my 8100 and now it does not show who is calling (from my phone directory or the phone number)!!! I don't know what I did? Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thanks!

i've been trying for days to get all my ringtones and pics off of my lg 8000 and put them on my new lg 8100, but it's not detecting my phone and i've tried to remove and reinstall and reboot and everything i can think off, but it's just not working. i need help to get it hooked up.

1. Goto the address below and pick any proxy server IP address with a port of 8080.

I am reading through the threads and see that us 8100 users are able to download ringtones and wallpaper from the internet onto the phone, namely www.funformobile.com.

My question for anyone willing to help me is...
what equipment do I need to do this? just a USB cable? 😳

I am not real familiar on how to work the phones software, any help is appreciated.

Just wondering if there was a way to set the phone to announce caller or number through Bluetooth? I LOVE having bluetooth for the convenience, but it sucks that when I get a call I still have to get the phone out of my pocket or purse to see who is calling. I always check caller ID before answering, so it would be awesome if it could announce it. Don't know if this is possible, but if anyone knows, please post! I would love you forever!

I was wondering if there is a way to change the font size on the front display? I have changed my setting from normal to large, but I don't see any change in the font.

user reviews for each phone show the following:

e815 131 reviews rating = 3.93

vx8100 86 reviews rating = 3.21

To me that is an indication that not only is the e815 a better performing overall cell phone, but also that the e815 is probably out selling the vx8100. Wat du think? 😲 😳 😎 😛

OK for now, I think I'm going to keep the vx8100 and see if the software updates fix the volume/clarity issues.

If I keep it past my 15 days and these issues are not resolved, will I still be able to exchange it or get my money back?

For example - if its not fixed within 6 mos. can I still return/exchange for a new phone?

I love the features/menus/lights/etc. But I hate the reception/sound clarity

The speakerphone is pretty much useless as well.

What is the BEST Bluetooth headset for the lg vx-8100 phone

Does anyone know if QPST and BitPim have problems with reading high number Com ports? I'm using Com port 18 and have no problems with the Quicklink Mobile Phonebook reading my phone but QPST and BitPim both give me errors when trying to read the phone. Any ideas?

How can you put ringtones to an SD card? And is there a way to decrease the size of a ringtone? the ones I make are at 1374kb, for a 15 second clip.....Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently the unhappy owner of the LG VX-8100 who is having MANY problems with this phone. The main issue is fluctuating volume that renders the phone pretty much useless if you're trying to have a conversation with someone. There's supposedly a software update in the works, but I've heard many different opinions from different Verizon employees as to when it's actually going to be available. A reliable tech guy that works at one of the stores here locally is on vacation, and no one else there or at Customer Care seems to have any concrete information as to when this will be available. Unfortunately, I can't wait for this update any longer. I've gone ahead and ordered a Motorola E815 (had to pay full retail for it, but I needed a ph...

I admit and I caved with get it now. I purchased some wallpapers from sony and downloading went fine now when i go to use them I can't find them anywhere. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
