LG VX-8100

So I uploaded a song to use as a ringtone, following the instructions and it worked great. I then edited the song further on my comp and wanted to upload the new one. So using the program, I deleted the original, uploaded the new one (using a different file name) and reset. When I turned it on, only the original file was there, and when I went to play it, nothing happens. I loaded the phone on the computer again, and saw that the file was not listed in my "mr" folder. What is going on, can anyone help me?

Both VZW & LG - 'What volume problem?' I had this occur only once, but had my phone checked for a possible BT problem. Tech says everything fine. You people with this volume problem & others, have you had the phone checked before swapping it? Does anything show up or does VZW just blow you off? Curious. I cannot get call waiting with any BT headset. CW on phone, fine. Wonder if they gave me a BS story. 🙄 🙄

what specifically is field test mode? what does it do and what are the advantages/disadvantages? how do i put my VX8100 in FTM and how do i take it out of FTM?

I purchased a Universal data cable for all phones including my LGVX8100 but the cable kit says it only goes up to 8000 but i heard the cables are the same. i downloaded bitpim and it cant recognize it is there something i need to do on the phone to get this to work?

Ok i got the filesystem to load on my 8100 through bitpim

I put mp3's on my sd card but of course they are hidden

Question is how to make them appear and be able to play them through the phone

Well as I neared my 15 day WFG, I decided I had to have some info on the Volume problem that BOTH my 8100's were having. I work at VZW and have seen no info on any known glitches or problems with the 8100 but know numerous folks having similar issues and have seen many posts on this forum about it also. Here's what I got from LG....

I apologize for the experience you are having with your VX8100. The issue that you described is not a known issue of which LG is aware. Any software upgrades that may occur will be implemented and made obtainable through your service provider. As such, at the moment LG is unaware of any potential upgrade as well as possible fixes for your current issue....

THis phone will kick so much ass once everyone figured out the mp3 stuff heh

I wander if anyone will figure out how to put full version mp3's on the minisd card and be able to play them.

I just purchased the data cable so i can set mp3's as my ringtones looks like you guys already figured that out nice job.

if anyone wants to bring me up to speed on all the cool tricks and stuff already figured out on the phone feal free

So, many of you were/are complaining that there aren't any cool ringtones that come stock with the 8100. Well, I found them, thought I would challenge this board with posting the best way to actually make use of the tones... The good ones are actually located here:

1. create new txt msg
2. enter phone number
3. click options
4. click add
5. click sounds
6. Here they are.

Now that you know where they are, how do you move them over so you can select them as ringtones?

Hey, guyz, what's the latest on this problem? Are some of you still having the problem with volume?

If anyone has fixed it, can you tell us how?

In my Verizon service plan documentation, there is a section labeled "Make sure your phone has the latest software" by using *228. I was under the impression that it only updated the NAM, PRL, etc. Will this function really update the phone's software, such as when there is a volume and other fixes for the 8100?

I left verizon for a fashion phone that doesn't work in allot of buildings. LOL we told you so Gunny. I know I know. you guys are all allot smarter then I. My wife and I are at the Mall this morning and she is trying to call me on my new piece of chit razr and cant get through to me.finally she finds me and is pissed because my stupid phone ( which I thought was so cool) wasn't working again. this happened more then once. I don't know how others are using this razr. I live in Seattle, WA. Maybe others states have better Cingular coverage. Regardless I need my damn phone to work indoors. I went to the doctor with my wife, she need to see him, anyway were siting there waithing for him to come in so I was watching some South Park on my phone the doctor came in and saw what I was doing he sat down and said whats that I showed him he started watching and started asking me question ( what else is on here and what else can you do with it ) this went on for about 5 minutes when my wife cleared her throut. How does the card connect to the pc for tranfer of pix and flix? Do I need to buy an adapter for this? Thanx for any help in advance.

ok so i got the mp3 player to work sounds great out of the phone but i bought an adapter to make the audio go through my home system (which is a bugtime system) and it goes through but it only comes out one speaker and is really attenuated, when i hook up the headphones it comes out 2 speakers, still very low volume, i can still blast my house system and it get's loud near max volume but still only comes out one speaker and the sub im using stero wires, left n right, does anyone know of a direct 2.5 mill jack too stereo or even if it will make it come out bolth speakers. any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks

A sound I had recorded had the same thing happen as the video/pic problem. the title is there, but shows 0KB, doesn't play, and cannot be deleted.

Hey folks i'm new to this, just got my LG8100 about two days ago and I can't find it but is it possible to put your own ringtones on the phone without a data cable, did not have time to get one yet.

Ok, I got the files working, now I find that the volume only goes to 42. I was told it goes to 100. Can anyone tell me why it may be limiting itself?
