HS820 with video and MP3's

I was using my HS820 earlier today and started playing a video and for a few seconds before I tried to change the volume I could hear it playing in the headset. Has anyone else experienced this? And if you can reproduce it how do you do it?

Phone Problems

After reading all these forums, it sounds like a lot of you guys that are messing around with BitPim - QPST and fooling with the MP3 crap, are the one's having many of the problems. Not denying that VZW f****d around with the software, could it be that you're causing more of the problems? I have used my phone straight out of the box, as is, and the only problem I've had was a dropped volume ONE time in a bad cell area. I'm from the old school. I bought the 8100 because I liked the phone. It had BT and excellent Voice Command. That was my main interest, not having to mess with the phone when driving. Did VZW f**k up the phone. Definitely. They did with the last 2 Moto's and I'm sure the Samsung a970, will be the same. Will they correct the pr...

VX8100 and the VX8000 : the differences?

i have had my VX8100 for about six days now and overall i do like this phone..
however i am having most of the problems listed on this forum..
camera delay, bad camera in dark, earpiece volume changing (altho its only happens a few times)
i dont like not being able to use my midi files as ring tones...
the vx8100 however DOES have some awesome little touches..
such as the outside screen being able to read text messages and missed calls,
the missed call tone,
and the crippled bluetooth..

now here's the question:
should i return this phone while i can and get the VX8000?
so far from what i know..the VX8000 is able to play custom MIDI sounds as ringtones and has a far superior camera.
but lacks the SD slot which i use to save all ...

custom ringtones

im not sure if someone already posted this. but i got the e815, and using the program wavepad i can make my own ringtones, i can select whatever part of the song i want, however long , and send it to my phone as a ringtone. real mp3 ringtones that you make yourself , isntead of getting already made ones from like walmart . com . after u make yr own ringtone and send it to yr fone , u can follow instructions other ppl said using bitpim or qpst, but the e815 allows me to make it a ringtone without using weird programs

Charge while phone is on

Can I charge my phone while it is still left on? The reason why I ask is that I am in the medical field and I need to be able to receive calls and voice mails 24 hrs/day.

If left on, will it hurt the battery? Will it ring and function properly? Thanks for your help.

Ya, that camera delay thing...

OK, not to drive this in to the ground and I am not getting rid of the phone because of this... But tonight, I was trying to take a picture of my daughter dancing out on the dance floor at a social gathering and found that every time I tried to take a picture of her dancing, it took the phone too long to snap the pic (a second or two), so I never got a good shot. A second is a BIG deal when you think you have the perfect shot.

I hope they fix this because I really like this phone!

vx8100, e815, and a little thing called a mp3

So we know that the 8100 and the 815 are almost evenly matched, but we now know that this phone doesnot have a mp3 player and the e815 does. MOD sucks and i would never use it. So,(HONESTLY) Is it time to flock to the e815???

Thanks fellas. All views and opinions will be greatly appreciated, Omar M.

Link to LG site for 8100...

This link may be available elsewhere on this forum, but this is just a refresher.

If you download the .pdf file on this site you'll see LG's description of the phone (not Verizon's).

It does mention using the outside buttons for music, but it doesn't mention mp3.

In the footnotes, it talks about BT limitations...

Which bluetooth headset is best?

I purchased the Plantronics M2500 yesterday and it seems to work pretty well--no statis within the 30 ft range. I was thrilled that I could make calls with the voice activation and not having to open the phone (I was worried since you can't make regular calls that way). But I was wondering which other headsets are good. The Plantronics seems pretty comfortable but I think it looks kind of big on the ear. I think the Jabra also look big but I've heard great things about them. And as far as the Motos, what's the difference in the models, HS810, 820 & 850? Any of those better than the other? Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks! 🙂

NO MP3 PLAYER - VZW CONFIRMED

"URGENT! LG 8100 DOES NOT have an MP3 player."

This was released on verizon's infocenter for employee's.
That's all it said. Nothing about future firmware upgrades or anything - so it sounds as if they left the 8100 crippled for good.

Re Scala 500

I have used it for almost 6 days now without recharging. Works great. Voice Command is almost perfect, as well as the digit dial. Loud and clear on both ends. What about CW? Does this work? Only drawback, is having to reconnect, if turned off or out of range. Anybody else experiencing this? If not are you using a std or ext battery in 8100? Scala tech said phone probably saving power not searching for it. Wondering if changing battery will help. Somebody using this please let me know. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

if you want to listen to mp3s look here

this is a fairly simple process once you get it down, you have to use the ms dos prompt to do it. If you have never done this it will be weird but you cant really screw anything up on the phone or your computer unless your iq is VERY low.

Previous post,edited:

the 8100 is fully mp3 capable and WILL play mp3's. all that you have to do is...

1. Save the .mp3(s) to your sd card in your my_sounds folder and go to your cmd prompt in windows (click start, then click run, then type in cmd and then click ok)

2. go to the drive that your sd card shows up on. Mine is drive F:\ for instance. (type "f:" at the black screen and press enter)

3. you should now be here f:\ (if thats your SD card drive)

4: type dir and press enter, you sho...
