LG VX-8100

my phone just froze while i was trying to put ringtones on it with my data cable and now its just froze on the get tunes and tones screeen, it wont turn off or any thing? what do i doooooo

when i go to modtones on my pc,why isn't the 8100 listed in there??,can you get ringtones from get it now? is this not going to be as easy as my 7000 to download....did they cripple everything on this phone!!!!

I visit these forums occasionally and have contributed a few comments about the phones that I have used. I have viewed the hacks to get the ringtones to work on the 8100. What I want to know is will using Bitpim and QPST void the warranty on the phone?

Does anyone have and use the Logitech camera?
Does it mean that if you and someolse you talk to have it all your calls are live Video calls?

Please explain the benefits of this, as there is no demo.

I know there has been a lot of talk about the scala headset but I had a few questions before I purchased. I was wondering what options it has. Mainly I was wondering if you can switch over to an incoming call. I purchased the Logitech Freedom which works really well, heads above the motorolas, but it does not have the capability to answer incoming calls. Also has the scala worked well so far for those who have used it? Thanks!

a few areas i go to only have a strong sprint signal.
So, on my old lg 6000, i would go to menu->0 ->000000 and select "force mode"
then "pcs only"

is this possible on the 8100? I tried something
in the menu->0 to pcs only but then it said no service at all.

should i go back to the lg6000 or is there a way to do this on the 8100?

I have read in the forum about using mpegable and I have used it and it is great. I have one question tho, is everyone else who uses it have "dicas" in the top left hand corner?

has anyone used any of the bluetooth headsets from body glove. I saw some sweet ones, but i have never heard any feedback on them so checking to see if they are any good since i had to return my crappy moto 850

I've created a few ringtones and saved them in a similar way I saved them to the 8000 but now when I look for them they are under 'Sounds' and not 'Ringtones.' I can play them but just not set them as ringtones.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm currently using QPST.

I posted a thread earlier about the flashings lights and found out you can't disable them. When i first got my phone I thought that when making and recieving calls all the colors flashed. Now only the pink-purple-blue-light blue lights flash. Is this the same with everybodys phone?

I spoke w/a Verizon rep and they told me that they sell the mobile office kit by Smith Micro for 29.99 that lets you update the phonebook on the 8100. He said he doesn't think it will connect with Outlook. Anybody know what this software is? Is it the same thing as Bitpim? I ordered the VX8000 cable from Ebay but just thought I'd ask.

had the 8100 for like a week im not gonna talk about the pros n cons vs the 8000 theres too many, quest #1 how do i get video on hte phone from my computer i got the sd card and reader, also what is goin on with my pics and vids their all deleted somehow but the info is still there i tried it with the card and without this is frustrating, also the phone freezes when im takin pics from the outside and flip the screen open does this happen to anyone else

I got the 8100 3 weeks ago. Within a couple of days my phone would occassionally reset (that is it started up without shutting down) when i checked my inbox (left soft key, scroll down to inbox, ok OR left soft key, press 3). This would happen a couple times a day. Within a few days it was happening about 10 times a day. I took the phone in and it was replaced. Three days into my new phone the same thing has started again! Any ideas? I am pretty sure I am not doing anything wrong. I do send a ton of texts, so this is really annoying.

ok so I'm going to get the 8100 in September, or maybe earlier.

Right now I have the Moto v710 and I hate it. On top of that, it's bluetooth doesn't work particularly well with the Jabra bt800. When they are connected, the headset works well. But the connection takes 30 seconds to a minute to kick in, and after a half hour might just stop working. Jabra is aware of the issue. I just talked to them. In fact they're aware of issues with all of the bluetooth enabled Verizon phones. First off PDA phones are bad FYI. Then, each phone has something screwy about it with the bt800: samsung i730, audiovox 6600, e815, and the 8100.

I know how to add words to my T9 dictionary. Is it possible to delete words? Is it possible to edit the dictionary?


Also, I've noticed when using T9 if I type the word "we're" or "they're" it automatically makes the first letter caps. It changes "we're" to "We're" and "They're". Is there a way to fix this?

I have gotten videos to work on the phone but I was wondering if anybody knew what the best quality the phone can play. I have been playing around with Xilisoft Video Converter the best I think so far is

I don't care how big the file will get I rather use a lot of memory on my card for better quality than hurt my eyes trying to make out whats going on, but then i don't want to put to much quality if the phone isn't going to be able to play it. The phones manual tells you absolutely nothing too. If anybody knows what the best settings are for video and audio let me know. Thanks.
