LG VX-8100

When buying a device that has multifunction devices I expect all the functions to work.

Phone has low volume issues
Camera doesn't take consistant decent photos
Can't play music with the phone closed

I have written and called LG & Verizon already and returned my phone. However I can't stress enough to them how dissatisfied I was with their claiming ignorance to their dysfunctional phone and user unfriendly policies pertaining to Get It Now.

Maybe a smartphone is the answer so you can back up your programs, games, music etc so you don't lose your GIN stuff down the line. And with a smartphone movies and music work at least.

i was willing to pay the $440 to switch over to the 8100
i got lucky and got a 100 dollar discount when i purchased the phone-only (no plan)

so far i am loving this phone..
i wish i was able to use "my sounds" as ringtones...
is there any way?

got bitpim 7.34 and it doesnt show the 8100 so which compatable one do i use so it will see the phone? thank you for any help

My wife and I were each using our 8100s around 11:00 pm last Friday when my screen went white, and stayed that way until a battery disconnect was done, when I was accessing Mobile WEB.

At the same time, my wife was taking a picture. When she "snapped" the picture, the screen went white, then all of her pictures, videos, and sounds that were recorded to the phone memory were erased.

Verizon said no "system" problem or glitch could cause the pictures to be erased. They swapped out her phone on Sunday with a new one.

I wouldn't think a Verizon problem could do this either, but the coincidence of us both having a "white" screen problem at the exact same time doesn't seem all that likely.

Anyway, we both are really enjoying our phone...

is it just just me or is the volume of the ringer a lot quiter when the vibrate function is turned on rather than off? is there a way to fix this?

I was able to get the ringtones onto my cellphone in .mid format, but does anybody know if it is possible to play ringtones off the MiniSD card?

Also, anybody know the correct wallpaper size for the main screen?

I'm planning to exchange mine today because of the volume issue and my pictures disappearing. Anybody know if they give a new phone or is it refurbished? I've powered off/on my phone and even took out/replaced the battery and the problems still happen. I don't want to reset the manufacturer settings though. I wonder if the rep at the store will do that and tell me it's fixed-I hope not.

i keep reading about certain cingular reps[ oops i mean customers] coming on this page comparing motorola to lg and other phones.

i have had the moto v66 the moto t720 and the v600..
in hopes that motorola would be getting it right the next time..they never did. i got LOUSY reception and i live in the heart of Chicago, plus it was like that everywhere i went!!!
moto phones especially the v series are cheaply made ,easily breakable etc..

moto needs to majorly tune up their products instead of rushing to release the next new thing..lg may not have the sleek desighn of moto phones but in MY experience they work.great!
my 8100 has not failed me once,i can talk inside my house [im sure a few of you have enjoyed this luxry for...

Can anyone help me out, i had the 8000 and used BitPIm for it and now the 8100 that i have does nto work with same program, and I have heard some good things about Qpst, anyone have an oppion on which one works best, and if bitpim, what can i do to get it working. Sorry if this sounds stupid, i am kind of new to all this, thanks for everyone's help.

i am getting very annoyed with the fading volume, is there a solution out there yet? i've tried the 3 suggestions from this forum but i still have the fading volume. i feel like i'm going deaf!! help! what to do???

Bought the Logitech Mobile Freedom. Haven't tried it yet. Also ordered Cardo Scala 500. Will post a review when I've tried both. Also thinking of Plantronics M250 or Voyager 510. Heard they were bulky but good sound. Using the Moto 850. Voice recognition works great. Sound a little low. Outgoing call - instant connect. In-coming call - phone rings, headset beeps twice and there is a several second delay before it connects. Works, but not really crazy about it. Had the Jabra 250 & 250v before. Was great for a couple of days till voice recognition just f****d up. Exchanged it for 2 other units but had the same problem. Techs checked out phone and said no problems. Ghost in the phone? Works fine with the 850, so I guess it doesn't like Jabra. A...

I have the 850. Excellant voice recognition but delay connecting to incoming calls. Phone rings, beeps twice, then about two second delay to connect. Jabra and Plaantronics connect instantly, but problems with voice recognition after a couple of days. Ordered Scala 500, but haven't gotten it yet. Keep having to go back to the 850. Delay driving me crazy, but all-around the best so far. I read somebody else has the same problem. Do all of them work the same way? What about the 820 or the other Moto's?

Can you list your geographic location and the purchase date of your 8100 and if you've had a CAMERA PROBLEM?

Ok, I'm really sad right now. I just bought the VX8100 today, being promised that voice memo recordings can be used as ringtones...I can't seem to figure out how. The manual doesn't mention it being possible. If anyone knows what to do, please help!!! 😢
