has ANYONE found this feature?
i got picture ID working, but have you found how to record sounds, like someones voice, and use it as a ringtone?

After reading a whole bunch of stuff on Howard Forums, it seems people are having issues with the speakerphone on the 8100. Apparently, you (the cell phone user) can hear the other guy well, but he cant hear you well - static, echo, dropped words. I'm wondering if anyone here has had a chance to test this out. Is there really a problem, or are there just a bunch of LG haters on Howard Forums? Also, if this is a problem, can this be fixed in a firmware update? And how does this compare with the echo problem on the e815? Thanks.

I picked up the Moto E815, yeah right, the Power Rangers Walkie Talkie I just bought my kid from Walmart seemed better made. So I moved on to the LG 8100, OK, seemed at first glance like a decent phone…..but oh yeah, just a few little minor bugs. Like you can’t hear on it! some of the other junk works but the main purpose of the thing is to talk and hear and a few 1000 people on the Net have complained about a volume issue. Yeah, I’m gonna jump right into that phone.

How in the heck does a company let something like that happen. How come the independent labs and reviewers don’t call them on it? Or is it just a handful of unlucky schmucks holding a schelp-rock posting that are having problems?

I remember my VX7000 being able to hold 50 inbox and 50 outbox..
my moto e815 is current using 5/6 capacity holding 79 inbox and 77 outbox
this would be an important factor for me in purchasing the vx8100
so how many can this phone hold?

So, when do you think the phone is going to come out?

i am told this phone is 450 bucks without a new contract...
i am already under a contract and it won't be ending anytime soon...
the e815 only costs 300 bucks with the same exact features of this fone
why is this phone another 150 bucks more than the e815?

You'll all please forgive me if this has been brought up before, but this forum has gotten quite huge.

I just now finally got my 8100 --and am a first-time customer with VZW as well.

So far the biggest problem I have found with this particular phone is the lack of clarity --e.g. "S's" sounding like "F's-- in comparison to my ANCIENT Nokia 8390 (!!!) which is MUCH clearer.

I don't know if this anything to do with the earpiece (non-Bluetooth) I'm using or the difference between GSM (Cingular) and CDMA --but it's quite noticeable.

Also, using one of my regular trips from Orange County to San Diego for a first-time comparison to see if VZW IS really as good everyone says --especially to that of Cingular-- I dropped one of my first ca...

Is it possible to use other Ringtones, and Wall Paper from other LG Phones?
Example: There are Kool ringtones available at MLB.com but they are only for the LG-3200.

Can I use these on the LG 8100, I am desperate to get more Ringers and Wallpaper to be used with the 8100, where can I find them, or how do I crack the system to use what I want?

Has anyone used the any of the get new ringtones features--true tones, ringtones, fun tones, etc? I was thinking of trying the VZW tones under true tones, but wasn't sure how it works and how they charge you. It says 2.99 for 1 use, 5.49 for 2 uses, 9.99 for 4 uses, but then under "info" it says it allows you to purchase clips. So if I get charged 2.99 for 1 use, do I still have to pay more fees to purchase clips after that? I have no idea how it works so I was hoping someone may have used it before and could help me out.

I can't seem to find any selection of TV Show Themes for Ringers, and or MLB Teams to Download Logos.

Is there any other web site that will support this phone?
Or can I use the previous LG model and use what that will allow on the 8100.

I have less than 24 hours left on my 15 days. I'm having all the same problems and still wondering why I should pay extra for this "MP3 Player" that doesn't work without spending almost another $100 to get it up and running.

I have had the phone for over 2 weeks and really do like it. But I just recently started experiencing problems with it. I am noticing the fading of the volume, even with the auto volume and voice privacy off. The volume is fine when I use the speaker or headset though. Then today I noticed that all the pictures I took with the camera since I got it have mysteriously disappeared. There are still squares labeled with the file names, but they are blank! Very weird. I will go to a Verizon store tomorrow and see if they can exchange it for me. The thing that sucks is that I downloaded a ring tone from VZW tones for $2.99, but the cust service rep said I could call to get a credit for it once I get the new phone. Which headset do you use to listen to music through your phone? I bought a mini-SD and the Plantronics headset because that was the only one in stock. It is the one with two plugs.That headset is NOT stereo from the phone but OK from my PDA. I need a headset that is stereo from the phone. Thanks from the satguy.

After a frustrating 6 months with a 6100 VZ is allowing me to upgrade to another phone now.
I am afraid if I wait all the 8000's will be gone. I am not really into all the streaming video & phone internet but just want a decient phone with a good reliable speakerphone and camera. I like the idea of the 8100's disc for downloading pics, but wish it could also be used to upload mp3 ringtones.
I will be able to upgrade again in 18 months but in the meantime those of you that have both what would you do?

I just got the 8100 yesterday and i am liking it so far. the only thing that is really pissing me off are these lights on the front blinking everytime i get an incoming call.

anyone know how to turn these OFF?

I posted this one the moto forum also, thought I would let you guys know too. I went to radioshak and they have a universal charger that you pay $30.00 for and you get one charger tip free. After that, if you have multiple phones like we do or change them often, it is just $10.00 per tip. I know lg changes their chargers for every phone and I used to get mine at Target but my phone is too new and they didn't have it. This is a great option and I tried it out this afternoon and it works great. Just thought I would share that with you, I know that verizon charges $30.00 per unit and you get this for the same price, but after that, it will be just $10.00.

So if you order the 8100 from Verizon's site, you get a $50 instant rebate..If you buy it at the store, is there any kind of rebate? Thanks
