BT800/LG8100

At this time I would not recommend buying the new Jabra BT800. They are not fully compatible. Everything works, like the voice commands, built-in callerID, and integrated ringtones. However, there is one tiny problem, the answer key does not respond on the BT device and does not answer the call. Ok, thats not a tiny problem but hopefully Jabra will release an update because the headset is actually really nice.

Let me know if there is a fix that I do not know of (or a loophole).

Good News "SPEAKER PHONE"

I havent had much chance to read through the whole forum but i found out something neat about the speaker phone. There is a way to use the speaker phone while the phone is still closed. Only thing is u need a earpiece to pull this trick off. Just set your phone to speaker phone. Plug in your earpiece jack and dial a call like you normally would, then close the phone and unplug the earpiece and THERE YOU HAVE IT, an unflipped speaker phone for ur convenience. Doesnt work for all features so u can have fun with trying out what works and what doesnt. I know u can pull it off with the Voice command. Some of you might find this option useful since i almost went with the E815 for this reason. LG has once again showed its potency, Loving m...

Called LG - Wrote Verizon

I decided to call LG about the phone problems. The csr I spoke with was very pleasant, and seemed to pay great attention to what my complaints were. She did say the mp3 player was disabled by Verizon. I spoke with her about volume issues, speakerphone, BT problems, camera delay, and dropped calls. I said I didn't know which of the problems fell into LG's purview as opposed to Verizon's. She said she put them all in her report, and said the call was recorded, and said I should also report them all to Verizon.

Below is the email I just sent to Verizon. I ran out of space - 2000 character limit - and was too lazy to send more, but this is what I did say. I plagerized a bit from another person's review.

>>I recently purchased an LG ...

Why are there no recalls yet?

I am not trying to stir the pot, and yes I have since returned all the lg8100's they have sent me. But when the 815 was defective they stopped selling them until there was a fix, why is lg or verizon still letting these go out with the issues not being resolved? It would seem to me that if you get 2 or 3 bad ones in a row you will switch and it also sounds like a lot of people are doing that. So for every one person returning 2 or 3, they're warehouse should be almost as full as before they shipped them. Take them off the selling list until you get it right so as not to hurt your reputation. It's easier to reel them in once than to get them to return later.

Anyone else? Just curious?

I know I have posted several times that I am keeping my 8100 and I am almost sure I am. however, yesterday and today my phone locked up on me again. I have the volume issue too. My bluetooth headset has not arrived yet so i cannot try it out.

My question is, has anyone changed their minds about keeping the lg after using it for 14 of the 15 days before you cannot return it.. I sorta of want to exchange it but, I wonder if the issues will be able to be fixed in the future. I really like this phone. I just do not want to get stuck with one that does not do what it is supposed to do..

anyone ..

LG8100 + Jabra BT800

I purchased the new Jabra 800 BT Headset with callerID built-in. I was wondering if anyone else is having issues answering calls using the headset. The devices paired fine and I am able to use the voice commands, however, it is not recognizing when I hit the answer button on the headset.

Location...VOLUME PROBLEM

Can you list your geographic location and the purchase date of your 8100 and if you've had the VOLUME PROBLEM?

Thanks!!

Maybe we can find an area where the phone has been perfect.

BT HS850 and echo :(

I'm getting complaints about echo from people I'm calling with the 8100. I can't hear any echo, but the person on the other end can hear their voice echo.

I called my phone myself to verify this. If I turn the Headset off, no echo.. on.. echo.

Anyone else having this problem? It's my first foray into BT so maybe I'm doing something wrong.. hopefully!

Thanks!

How to use a Self-Recorded "My Sound" as a Ringtone

How to use a Self-Recorded "My Sound" as your own personal "custom custom ringtone"

I just happened to notice several people complain about not being able to use a self-recorded "My Sound" as a ringtone. However, I thought I'd shed some info on this very easy process to get it to work. When you get this to work, i'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it. First thing I did was record myself mimicking a default ringtone from the phone. and when i got this to work, and someone called me, all of my friends were busting out laughing so hard. I absolutely love being able to do this. so anyway, to get to the step by step details.

*If this has already been figured out and posted by someone else, my bad then. But I haven't seen anyone shed any...

Phonescoop pulled down over 10 reviews

I noticed today that there were at least 10 less reviews than earlier. Its about time. The amount of reviews that had a 0 rating was getting ridiculous.

Lg VX8100 for free on Amazon.com!!!!!

I paid over $200.00 for this phone, and its going back today. I'm getting it from Amazon instead! I think it only works for people that are switching carries, and i'm switching from Cingular to Verizon. They are also selling the E815 for free as well.

movie on the phone

I managed to get a 100Mb file onto my phone and play it with no problems. I'm thinkin if u have the 1Gb mini sd slot u might be able to load a full length movie onto the phone. Since the average movie file is 800Mb- 900Mb converting it into the 3gp format cuts down the MB size by 1/5 roughly so u can load it onto the card with roughly 200MB. I think this is great for those longg trips in the car with no laptop or in car dvd player.

How I Uploaded A Music Video Onto My Phone...

Here's how I upload a music video onto my 8100.

1. I reformated my video to .3gp using Super.

2. I hooked up my 8100 to my comp using a usb data cable that I bought from EBay for $3.00. (the 6100 and 7000 data cable works on 8100)

3. Got QPST to recognize and set up my phone.

4. Under the DLOAD directory, I deleted the two files called video.dat and videosize.dat .

5. I uploaded my video under brew16452mf .

6. Resetted my phone and watched my music video.

I don't know what the maximum capacity is for videos but if anyone does please reply. Thanx

Voice privacy and auto volume

Does anyone know what these settings do and do they really work?

voice privacy: enhanced/standard
auto volume: on/off

I've tried seemingly every combination of those settings and am clueless as to the ideal setting.
