Call LG Directly with Problems on 8100!

Stolen from Howard Forums (posted by shundiman)

Anyone having any problems should call LG directly at 1-800-793-8896 and chose option number 4. I just talked to a rep there and he claims that no problems whatsoever have been reported and if people would just call in then they would start developing the next software upgrade.

Let's all get on the phones!

p.s. This rep claims he reads howardforums all the time yet has no clue whatsoever.

Thought this was interested to know and i think we should all call in and do this. Not sure why we bother with Verizon in the first place as they are not the makers of the phone nor the writers of the software!

Can you return/exchange with no UPC code?

I'd like to know what happens if you go to a Verizon Store to return or exchange your phone but you already sent your rebate so the box doesn't have a UPC code? I know they wouldn't accept a pleasure return, but I'm thinking it might be different if it's because of dissatisfaction or a problem with the phone. Also, how would it help if you buy the optional warranty? They replace phones within the first year even without the packaging as far as I know, it would be nice to hear some experiences. Thanks.

If you want an mp3 player...

Overstock.com has the Rio Nitrus for $90. Thats a 1.5 gig player bout the size and weight of an extended life battery.
So for the price of 2 512mb SD cards you can get something on which the buttons on the front work...!

save pix to card

I've heard people complain that you can't save anything to the card, so I didn't get a card. But now I am going through the menus and I found an iteresting feature. if you go to:
Menu
Settings & Tools
(4)System
(4)Manage Memory
(1)Save Options
(1)PIX (there is an option to save to )
- Phone Memory
- Card Memory
Same goes for FLIX and Sounds

Can anyone try that and let me know if it does save the content to the card?

8100 return

I think I'm gonna return the 8100 and get back my old vx6000 and wait a few months. Maybe Lg will fix some of the issues with the phone and I'll just purchase the newer version of the phone.

EMAIL THIS TO LG

[email protected]

1) When I use speakerphone others complain that the call quality is not good, they say that it gets crackly and they hear a lot of background noise as well as echo. It's not bearable for them. I've tried both on landlines and other cell phones.

2) When I go to take flix, as I'm recording, the phone reboots. Doesn't happen all the time, but happens very often.

3)When I take high-res pics (640x480 or 1280x960) in low light, when I actually click the button to take the pic, the one it took is very grainy compared to what I was looking at on the viewfinder before I took the pic.

4) Sometime when I receive a call and I have the phone set to Vibrate only it rings as well, also

5) I have had some problems wit...

I'm not having ANY of the listed problems, am I lucky or is trouble coming?????

Just curious, I am hooked on Phone Scoop and am on here several times a day and I see more and more threads with problems. I got the 8100 on the 15th and really like it. I have not had ANY (knock on wood) of the problems that I have read about. I feel lucky, but also a little nervous about it. Are these problems that people are having happening right away, did it take a week or so to happen? Just wondering if it's only a matter of time before I experience problems. I hope not!

Sorry...

I just re-activated my LG-6000 and the 8100 is going back today!

The "straw that broke the camel's back" was when I called Verizon and I couldn't even hear THEM!

I'm not gonna put up with the volume problem anymore! I've had it!!

Of course, I still love the phone. But I'll wait a little while longer to see if Verizon finally fixes all the problems and quirks.

Also, I tried sending myself a photo by email, and the 8100 wouldn't accept it. When I re-activated the 6000, it accepted and formatted it, no problem. Now it's my wallpaper!!

Naturally, I'll still be here on the "scoop" checking things out.

Good luck, everyone!!! 🙂

Yahoo SMS Messaging

Hey all, does anyone know if it's possible to do Yahoo SMS messaging on the 8100? I looked at the yahoo instructions and it said go to your message menu and choose SMS and there isn't one. I don't want to use the mobile web (I think VZW messed up and cancelled that so I need to call to reactivate it!!!), I just want to use my txt msg allotment...

Can anyone help?
