Email Question

I just got my Q today and so far so good. However, when you send an email it does not look like you are able to cc or bcc the email to anybody else - you can only add recipients to the To line. Is it true that you cannot cc a recipient on an email or am I missing something.

Slow streaming audio

Hi guys, I'm having a problem streaming audio from the internet with the q... everything seems alright in terms of loading up WMP and buffering, but when the audio plays, it play exceedingly slowly - not jerky, just really, really, really slowly (sort of like the wrong type of record on a record player). I've tried this with a few different sites all with the same results. Has anybody else experiences this?

thanks,
j

miniSD confirmed maximum capacity

I'm looking to buy a miniSD card for my Q. I know some phones have a maximum size they can see (if you put in a bigger one, it only shows the maximum allowed size, so bigger is a waste).

1 gig cards can be gotten for sub-25 bucks. 2gigs can be gotten for about 50-60, so money is not a huge differential. would like to have one card rather than two if possible.

thanks.

Treo 650 comparisons

I'm a Treo user --- had the Treo 600 and liked it and now have the Treo 650 and love it.

Does anyone out there know how the Q compares with the Treo 650 ?

Samsung SGH-i320 vs Motorola Q

It seems like Motorola waited so long to finally put out the Q that it already has competition on the way. This new phone by Samsung looks hot and it's in black with buttons that look comfortable to use.

Does anyone have any more information about this phone? Carrier, etc.? It's a GSM phone so I'm guessing T-Mobile and it's supposedly coming out this month but I thought the new Sidekick was coming out this month too. Can anyone confirm? And does anyone think this phone can really turn out to be the Q killer?

Update my Calendar

So I got the Q and love carrying it around. Vibrates when I get emails, rings when I get calls..its all peachy..unitl....I try to sync my outlook calendar to my Q. What is the best way to do it??

This is my setup:
Work Email - Exchange Server connects to wirelesssinc.com and then uses "PUSH" to send me the email (every 15 mins). I could not configure the Q to talk directly to my Exchange Server..receiving worked fine but Sending only worked for in network emails.

I think I can work with that..but I do need my calendar to be synced with my Q. What's the point if I schedule a meeting on the road and my Outlook has no clue. I tried ActiveSync..but the first time I did it, nothing was loaded to my Q..and yeah..it erased all emails from my...

Outlook Folders

I understand you cannot sync sub folders in Outlook Contacts to Window Smartphones. Any suggestions on the best software to sync all of the information in my outlook?

3rd party email replacement for Pocket Outlook?

Well, as a long time Blackberry user, I have a hard time when people ask me if my new Q is better than my Blackberry. All around? Yes. Email? No.

But someone HAS TO write an improved email client for the Q that does all the things we loved our Blackberries for: multiple message marking (as read), searching for senders or text in all emails, Auto correct, periods when 2 spaces entered, etc, etc.

(I need it to support IMAP to get my work email; I know there are some 3rd party POP clients.)

Anybody seen anything?

Thanks,

Rick

Need a review on APPLICATIONS use on the Q

I was hoping this review would delve into something very important to Smart Phone users. The capability of this phone to handle applications.

What is the processor power like, what is the speed like, what is the memory like? Does it crash easily, run out of memory easily?

What is this phone like playing simple games like Yahtzee or Monopoly? What is it like with productivity software..such as Mortgage calculators, more advanced contact management programs...things you WILL buy and WILL use from Handango?

Please Phone Scoop...start considering that kind of testing. This is the real world and people need to know. It would be a valuable service to your readers.

Extended battery

Did anyone purchase the extended battery? They have a great deal for a limited time through Verizon right now. It appears that it comes with a new batter cover. How much extra bulk does this battery add?

Activesync vs Wireless Sync

I've been using activesync to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar- worked pretty well.

I was travelling, my Q died, and I've lost my contacts, calendar. I spoke to VZ who convinced me that Wireless sync is a better choice... He set me up for my AOL e-mail; i concluded that the 'native' outlook mail on the Q is better for my e-mail needs.

It would have been nice to be able to get my 'data' if i had been using wireless sync.

For the purpose of sync'ing contacts, notes, calendar what are the pros and cons of both solution?? How is battery life effected by these?

AIM on Q?

Hi. I'm new to pda's and I'm going to be a light user. I'm basically looking for a phone that will allow me to check e-mail, browse the web and go on Aol instant messenger. I have seen the treo has a good aim program but have heard nothing about the Q. I went into Verizon and they said it had AIM but I didn't see it and wanted to hear from people who knew what they were talking about! Do you think this is the phone for me? Thanks!

mms

i noticed this phone has txt, mms and outlook as messaging choices. My question is this, if i have a pix plan on this device and the pay per use data package can i send pix and flix messages without getting kb charges through mms? I know on the 6700 and other pda's it would charge you per kb when sending a pix because you had to use the email to do it, but i don't beleive those other products have mms on them.

A Piece of Information on the Q and the mini SD WIFI card

As I have seen mentioned on this site a few times there is a mini SD wifi card out there by Spectec. Everyone is anxious to know whether it is compatible with the Q and I have not seen an answer to that question yet. I mailed the manufacturer/supplier to determine whether it would work with the Q and if so had it been tested. This is the response I received and although not definitive there may be enough information for one of you hardware guys to give a best guess:

"Motorola Q phone( with Windows Mobile 5.0 with Mini SD slot) has not been tested. Your device must correspond with the following: (1)the Interface must be SDIO 1.0 and (2)OS Compatibility must be: Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PCs and Smartp...
