Motorola Q

Virtually unlimited address book (dependent on available memory) (this is cut & pasted directly off motorola's site. 🙂

Does anyone know how to make this a true statement. I bought a 1G memory card and I can seem to figure out how to transfer my contact list to my memory card to utilize my internal storage space for other purposes. My phone is dragging with over 680 contacts stored to the phone.

Couple of questions

1. can i put my contacts off of my phone onto my pc so i can edit them?
2. I have a comcast email account how do i set it up to link with my outlook and not my comcast acct?
3. how do i get online support? through moto or vrzn?

I know you can get XM radio but it's not one of the channels available as far as I can tell.

where is the setting to LEAVE MAIL ON THE SERVER?? When i delete POP mail, it deletes it from the damn server!!!

Hey just got the Motorola q and CANNOT live without my AIM.....i know theres the IM+ software that is apparently compatible but you have to pay....does anyone know if you can get it for free?????

When I use Agile Messenger, does it use air time minutes or internet minutes?

I set up my Q to send/receive email from my POP3 ISP and receiving works perfect. The problem is sending emails. I consistently receive "Invalid Message Recipients" when sending anything out.

I have checked my outgoing mail server and it is correct. Anyone know what the problem is or have this same issue?

Please help! I have being working on this all night.

People let's be serious. Did we all really expect this phone to come out perfect the first time. Granted, it did take a lot of time to come to market and "they" should've caught the problems but every new phone is like this. Look at the RAZR when they first came to VZW there were many S/W related problems that were easily fixed by subsequent updates - like the laggy menus for example. If you want a perfect phone don't be among the first to purchase it.

I'm really considering buying this phone. If you can answer the following questions it would be very helpful in my decision.

1) What is the difference between this version of Windows Mobile and other versions of Windows mobile? I heard something about Q's version being strictly for smartphones. What are the changes between the two versions?

2) Do instant messages lag on the Q? If so how much? Would I be able to use AIM or YIM on the Q (third party or otherwise)?

3) Does it have push email or does it not? All the reviews I have read weren't very clear on this. Not to me anyways.

4) How is multitasking like on the phone? Will I be able to surf the web while waiting for my friend to respond on MSN messenger?

I am going from a Blackberry to the Q...I am confused about Synching email...I don't think I want to sync my email because if I delete it on the Q I don't want it back on the Q when I sync to my PC in the AM...How do I avoid this? I will keep a lot more emails on my PC then I will on the Q...

On my BBerry I just got my email and then deleted them...I use POP as of now but Exchange Server 2003 is being installed as we speak...

Also...No Synching of Notes??? Is there a way around this?

How long does this phone take to fully charge I been charging it for a while and its still not fully charged. I am using the power adapter. Also IMAP4 process keeps on running even after i kill the process in task manager.

Interesting Observation

I have 1400 contacts I when composing a new email message it goes like this:

01. type 3-4 letter of the first or last name as I know it in my contact list.

02. Type subject

03. Type the body.

04. Click send

It now prompts me with a match selection of names for the 3-4 letters I typed. After selecting the correct contact it sends.

This is better than I first thought, however not yet blackberry easy.

My dear wife was fooling around with some of my phones settings and it now has a very annoying feature. Each time you select a program (mail, browser, etc.) the application launches, but if you don't touch the keyboard for 10 seconds the screen automatically rolls-back to the main menu "desk top"

Can someone please direct to where this configuration may be causing this beahvior?
